    Real 05- girls all quit

It looks like real has a new roster for their first year in GA. I’m not talking about 1 or 2 new players, it looks like about 7 girls from this year have left the team. There are only 13 girls rostered.I guess they finally got sick of the horrible coaching and being the ugly step sister to the 06s. My question… do they need to keep a percentage of players to remain accepted in ga? Brand new, unproven team. Seems like ga might be desperate…. If they take this team.

Actually… 10girls quit. I wonder what the problem is with this club?

Not surprised, GAL is just EDP with a fancier name.

These girls are 17 years old. Some may have chosen what college’s they are playing for some may just have realized soccer is done for them. How long so you expect these teams to last?

This is not uncommon at this age. If the kid is not planning college ball they quit. It happens everywhere. Even Top clubs struggle to keep the teams together bc if they are college committed they really don’t need to play club anymore. Just play HS and train.

05s are heading into U18/19 - this is exactly when most quit. Some who are going to college will either go early or train before freshman year and many who arent playing in college will stop playing club and enjoy senior year. It is pretty much par for the course for this age. In fact, if you had any 06's playing up with 05's, this will be the year that they drop back to play on age.

yup. then if a club is weak or the coach a jerk, it can accelerate the process. If you're not on a college track why keep spending thousands of dollars and all that time? If half your team is leaving why stay? If the coach is a jerk why stay? If you're good and have a better opportunity elsewhere why stay?

Most U18/U19 rosters are huge, not shrinking. Yes kids are quitting, but honestly if you are in GA or ECNL and are quitting now...why the hell were you there in the first place?

Well I read it on TS, so it must be true.

Indeed! This is the only place to find accurate information from people with absolutely no agenda!

It's a shame that the very unqualified coach, not the players age, is what ended the team. This is a fact band the reason why we left.

This is the age where when they didnt get an offer from a school, they stop bothering. Its also the age where top players may just train in prep for college. Reality is that club soccer really goes to U17 and after that its either fade out or prep for college, which can be done in many ways. Whether Real is successful or not will depend on U16 and younger.

My kid is a committed 2023, and the expectations are very clear: Keep playing at the highest level, don't be a jackazz, and our verbal will be firm come November. But, PLAYING is most important. After that, they want you to keep playing at the highest levels to get yourself ready for college. No player should be train on their own for college prep. Complete wrong decision if that's what they are thinking.

Obviously the club doesn't want to lose the cash... uh, I mean players. A good club would see the players through and prepare them for college. But a coach driving players away is terrible. Not only is he unqualified but he also can't maintain sales for the club.
