Bragging you have been on the B team for2 years

Talking to a guy about how his daughter was going be playing on a top D1 program because she has been on top club’s B team for 2 years. Didn’t have the heart to tell him the truth

so,I started to do the numbers. Take top 100 D1 schools. They probably take 6 field players a year, 600 girls. NJ is around 3% of the US population. Since we are so great, let’s say we get 3X that. So that’s 54 players. Let’s say there are 5 awesome clubs in the state (or course yours is one). That’s 50 field starters. Hopefully his kid gets one of the 4 remaining places.

If the guy is proud and or ignorant what is it to you? Who cares? I am certain the sun will come up the next day for them. More unbelievable that you care enough to put this on here as if you are helping anyone.

Technically the 4 best strikers in the state could all be at one club and maybe the 4th plays B team. #s are funny things.

If the family of the player is rich, and give big donation or significant amount of benefits to the school, all the factors you listed up will be gone away. the coach will be forced to take her by school admin. if one of the top players in state demands full ride to the coach of top5 D1 schools, like Stanford, she is clearly losing the chance. She may get in but the coach and school may have priority. So you are talking about just hypothetical probability. there are the players who get into the school because they can pay full, instead of getting need based.

Not really. This makes no sense. Who decides the best 4 strikers in the state- this doesn’t exist. Either way - a great striker/baller will play whatever position needed on the better team. If a player can only play striker that’s not great either. Most of the youth top talent in our state can play multiple positions, examples: CH, MR.

Top D1 is subjective to some. If it checks all your kid's boxes, and he or she is happy, then it is a top program to the parent.

Having a happy and well adjusted kid at a school he/she likes, in a program where he or she feels valued is top to most regardless of the ranking.

At PDA and MFA kids off the second teams have gotten D1 offers. Some years more than others. I know this years both clubs will have handful of kids on the 2nd team with D1 offers.

Yes D1 NJIT vs D1 Stanford - different planet. That’s why it makes absolutely no sense to share information like that without the actual school.

He is also clueless. There are around 350 D1 programs and they typically take between 8-10.

Yeah, you’re a tool for caring about kids / parents that have nothing to do with you.

to compound maters, you came to a message board to share your dumb thoughts. No one cares what you think.

For women. On the men's side there's 100 fewer programs and a typical recruiting class will have 4-6 Internationals tend to play more. Fewer scholarships too (9.9 vs 14 for women). The math for boys is not good.
