Getting credible exposure for college and clubs having players at the YNT level are great for the league but they really need to fix the travel. Having championships over 2 separate weekends while forcing players/parents to travel for a week to San Diego at the start of summer is nuts. Whoever the tournament director is they need to be replaced between playoffs back in SD again and the debacle that was the GA Texas tournament.

Not at all. It’s very strong in other states just maybe not NJ.

They have added like 10 new teams this spring. Most are affiliated with a MLS Next or USL academy on the boys side. So i can see this continuing. Adds credibility for the newly added girls teams with MLS Next as the highest platform for boys.

STA and SJEB are both near top of each age group in their respective GA leagues. There’s ton of debate on ECNL vs GA but if you want to play in GA playoffs and get college exposure, then both of these clubs are better alternatives than any other teams in NJ other than PDA North. Sorry for the long sentence.

Did the Girls DA really FAIL? MLS just forced the program to get shut down because it didn't want to deal with the girls side and started up MLS Next for the boys side only... it didn't actually fail.

CSA is in the middle of their league and get great exposure
The training and players are average at best!
PDA shore gets great exposure too.

Of course it will. Another money grab. Like a giant shell game collecting parents money with false hopes.

I have no crystal ball and this is just my thoughts on the GA, at least in NJ. If you have a daughter who aspires to play college soccer at any level or just wants to push herself on the soccer field you (parent/costumer) really only have 4 league options.(ECNL, ECRL, GA, USYS/EDP) Other than that your daughter will have to do some serious lifting to get exposure that those leagues offer. The real issue I see is the ECNL and ECRL are a 2 pony show in NJ. (now some people can leave NJ to play, other don't have that option) Not says this happens but as this forum's history might disagree, some people don't like PDA or MFA that drops the options to 2 other leagues GA and USYS/EDP. Weirdly, I think the stronghold on the ECNL and ECRL of all 8 teams by only 2 Clubs will allow the GA to be sustainable at least in NJ, can't speak for the rest of the country.

GAL infighting with USYS won't end well. How many GAL clubs are in E64? Anybody else notice that CSA is not on the list of girls clubs anymore?

Correct. GDA did not fail. It had its plug pulled due to MLS control and SUM marketing forcing ussf to relinquish control of the DA. That, coupled with the lawsuits with the WNT meant they wanted out. The league itself was good and the GA is doing a decent job of moving itself forward but clearly it has some work to do. In reality, ecnl should have absorbed 1/3rd of the clubs and unified the league while helping cut costs. Standards woukd have basically been maintained, lower cost would have enables more participants.

Fail? No. It will survive just fine as a perfectly good B league, with some players and teams that can compete against ECNL but for different reasons s aren't in it.

If the constant departures of existing GA (former DA) clubs to join ECNL or even ECRL is an indication no. Unless they continue to replace those clubs with lower level EDP clubs out of desperation and the league will survive but basically become EDP like. While Penn Fusion, Arlington etc join ECNL, the likes of Metro United, Ukranian etc replace them. Not good.
