    2012 girls team

Looking for suggestions on teams with strong coaching in northern new jersey, preferably within 20-30min driving distance from within morris county (specifically, we are targeting some of the towns along rt24 for commuting purposes, Chatham, Madison, Morristown areas). relocating from NY this spring, so am familiar with some of the larger clubs names. but looking for specific feedback on teams in age group, not generally. Not concerned about record, as long as the team is in a strong flight and there is talent on the team/strong coaching for development purposes. Plan is to start checking out practices in advance of tryout season, so just looking for suggestions on teams that would fit this description to get us started. Many thanks.

In the area you are talking about with a good 2012 girls team. The football academy in Florham Park.

Match Fit has a good 2012 team and pathway to the ECNL.

It's U10 dude. Being there now is more like a "pathway to the ECRL squad after we replace you with new blood who got good training at U10".

Football Academy 2012 Girls (Black) are very good, silver play top flight too. Play in Florham Park/Chatham/Summit area. They went to Supercopa last year and imagine they will be one of the teams going again this year based on recent Instagram post from the club.

Just type any team in to gotsoccer (I know they don’t do rankings) and look at results from tournaments. PSA North generally do well but got blown out a lot this season, football academy beat them quite heavily this year. Those two are the only teams playing up in the 2011 bracket this spring so I’d say they were the better of the two teams in the local area. STA are pretty weak at that age group, don’t do well at any event by the looks of it. MatchFit do a 2012/13 mix pool so they’re results can be a little hard to read as you never know what group they’re playing with (or how many subs they take to a game). I watched that team at Tuckahoe (daughter is a 2011 and they were side by side) and they’re were 8 subs for a 7v7 team.

My sons a 2012 and played against the FA girls team last season in the league - they were very good. I tried looking to see if we were playing them again because I loved watching them play but looks like they’ve gone back to the girls league and 9v9

Coaching staff on all those teams right now are pretty good - STA just changed their coaching staff for this age group this year (not too sure if it was to try and push what was a weak age group), used to have female staff on this age group but changed. PSA coach is a good guy and heads up the whole club. Match fit coach generally does the B teams at the club but seems to motivate the young teams well. FA coaches have been with the group for a number of years too, look like the only female coaches on this age group in the area.

Thank you. Plan to check out STA and the football academy. Looks like they both also have indoor facilities, which is a plus for consistency purposes. I don't see much though about older girls teams at football academy, do they focus mainly on younger age groups? Admittedly am leery of Match fit with all the posts on here. I recognize that much of it is fabrication, but it gives the impression of drama and general distraction, and I see that as a red flag.

Football academy do have older girls teams but don’t have the connections of GA or ECNL. All their teams play EDP
