Just curious, if MF Shore's 2009 team is ECNL, how can they be holding 09 tryouts in April? ECNL rules state no tryouts till May 1st. I guess they are above the law. Now watch, someone from MF will post its not for the ECNL team. Once again, MF Shore pulling off shady things

They will have "generic" tryouts for 09's, say that they aren't ECNL tryouts, and Tetro will pick one ot two, if any at all, for his 09 ECNL team. Just my two cents, but I think any club that has a ECNL team should not be able to hold "generic" tryouts for that age group before the official ECNL tryouts. That gives them an unfair advantage to scout kids out before anyone else.Comment

I'm not defending this club, but I thought the May 1st deadline was for open tryouts, which could include ECNL players from other clubs. Otherwise, you can get discovery players before that deadlineComment

Clubs are allowed to have anyone attend practices before that. Not officially "tryouts" but ostensibly they are. All high level clubs operate this way. There isn't that much talent out there and clubs want to lock players in early.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment
