I'd say parents not grasping reality drives a good 2/3rds of club hoping. And by club hoping I mean a new club every 1-2 years, not the occasional moves for a better fit or club falling apart kind of move. If you're at a good club you may get a clunker of a coach one year but a good one others because they generally have a good staff. Most times if a kid isn't progressing it isn't because the coach is "unfair" or "doesn't see Brandon's genius" but the kid just isn't as good as the parents think.
Note: not all clubs are good. That is a good reason to move. But I agree painting coaches as all being out for themselves isn't a fair generalization. They get paid crap and are tremendous pressure from their employers to produce winning results above all else.

Of course at the younger ages it is about development but at some point it has to be combined with winning. It isn't a switch you can turn on and off like PDA fan boys would like everyone to believe. They only try and win league games sounds stupid. Own it all or don't own any of it.
Not what it once was. But seems that parents still buy into it. Not sure why they can’t see it.

My oh my the hate runs deep. If you're not at the club, why do you care? Because you're probably a competitor not a parent. If you're at the club and aren't happy then leave.
