No College Offer and in Junior Year

Serious question for those willing to help with an honest answer. My daughter is a Junior and has no College offers yet. She plays in ECNL for one of the NJ clubs. She is a decent player but not a superstar. I was just wondering as she continues the year and attends these showcases what should she expect. I see many girls on her team have verbal offers already. Does she still stand a chance to get an offer in her Senior Year? Do all offers come out for girls Junior year? Thanks

How much work has she done contacting coaches for her perspective College choices? Has she been emailing them, providing access to her soccer highlight video clips, and providing her schedule for games where that coach might be reasonably close to attend? Does she have a recruiting account like ncsa?

If she is passively attending showcases and expecting coaches to come to her, she is going to be very disappointed in the end.

She needs to identify at this point a very short list of candidate schools. It should be a match based upon her chosen major, her academics, the specifics of the soccer team in terms of style of play. Then she needs to get going with communications.

Thanks for the response. No recruiting account but yes sent letters to quite a few colleges. Has also been to a few college camps last summer. I guess what I am asking is it too late if it goes into Senior year without an offer? Do all colleges send out offers Junior year?

Different Poster -No its not too late, but the money gets less and less as time moves forward. Colleges use most money for those that are high on their board as big time prospects for the school ,but they still have money for Junior year recruits as they are still -heavily involved with their 2023 Class. but I will say, not getting any feed back is a bit concerning and I would take a good hard look at what schools your daughter solicited for recruiting.

Thank you for the response. Yes I am concerned. She may have to lower her sights a little and reach out to some additional schools

A good idea regardless of what happens with the top schools. Good luck.

Has she received any feedback from the college camps? Or any non-generic responses from college coaches after showcase?

Has her club been helping her?

This is a tough year with a lot of 5th years and transfer kids. Targeting the right programs has always been important but it's critical now. While there are still some D1 spots out there (lower level, probably not much $ left) and lots of D3s she should quickly reasses her targets and see if there's others that might be a better fit. Definitely talk with the club as well.
