There is no such thing as zero risk, just exchanging one risk for another.

Our club canceled practices / moved some indoors when it got too cold (Monday/Tuesday/and coming Saturday) but is outdoors otherwise. Our winters are pretty mild and the kids are moving - my daughter is never cold during practice, with minimal layers. At least outdoors they have space to properly practice, rather than crammed in a smaller indoor space. COVID or not, outdoors is a better solution for all but the coldest days, or snow. We practiced outdoors all last winter and missed a very small number of practices. This is all for U12+ - smaller kids may not be able to maintain warmth as easily and don't need as much space, so that's a different story.
