exactly how injuries happen. Way too cold for outside training. Indoors.

Guess your kid doesn’t go to school, ride the bus, go indoors to a store, play any other indoor sports, play gym…

Wow. Guess it makes sense that you want to keep her in a bubble and not practice in the bubble.

Why people don't balance legitimate risks like this (injury), or the risk your kid will want to quit (I would, being subjected to practicing outside in freezing temps), or even the risk involved in driving your kid to practice, with the small risk of serious illness from COVID...I just don't understand. There is no such thing as zero risk, just exchanging one risk for another.

kids will want to quit bc of ****ty coach well before being cold. They don’t feel cold the same way we do and don’t care. My kid plays in snow, rail, hail, heat. Doesn’t care. But a bad coach - that could ruin it all.

Uhh, ok. While true about coaching quality, completely irrelevant to the post topic.

Our club canceled practices / moved some indoors when it got too cold (Monday/Tuesday/and coming Saturday) but is outdoors otherwise. Our winters are pretty mild and the kids are moving - my daughter is never cold during practice, with minimal layers. At least outdoors they have space to properly practice, rather than crammed in a smaller indoor space. COVID or not, outdoors is a better solution for all but the coldest days, or snow. We practiced outdoors all last winter and missed a very small number of practices. This is all for U12+ - smaller kids may not be able to maintain warmth as easily and don't need as much space, so that's a different story.

All clubs should be universally taking these covid cases and spikes seriously. The spread is with children and omicron is not just a bad cold

It's less than a bad cold in children.

You are correct as my daughter didn't even have a runny nose. It wasn't even close to being a bad cold. Only tested her because Mom brought it home from school.

Seek help. Please. Don't get your children caught up in your neurotic behavior.
