But here's wher eit gets murky - most of those commitments also can be reached via many GAL teams, top EDP teams etc. Players looking for lowest level D1 plus D2/D3 in some regards have more options on where to play. If you want higher D1 you almost have to be in ECNL (sure there's a few quality GAL clubs left and coaches know not all players have a quality ECNL club in their backyard). But you're probably not going to find an ECLR or EDP player on a top 200 roster let alone playing a lot.

Didn't see anyone claim that those programs could only be attained by ECRL, nor did anyone say it was heads and shoulders above the others. Most of the posts here have said it's great for D2 and D3 opportunities. So it doesn't seem murky at all.

The reality is ECRL presents more opportunities than GA, otherwise why would GA clubs continue jumping ship to ECRL which is clearly secondary to ECNL? As they say actions speak louder than words.

The initial ship jumping has slowed down. Some GAL clubs can't get in right now because their markets are saturated.

Only a few stand a chance, the few remaining top GAL clubs. ECNL doesn't need the rest and aren't threatened by the league any longer. They not only survived but came out on top

Players at the ECLR/GAL/Top EDP level have a lot options. Pick whichever has the best coaching/fit. Ther'es a lot of overlap between all of that as leagues and at the local level.
