Which platform (ECRL or GAL) has higher ceiling and is more established when it comes to exposure, seems like they are fairly even so is the decision then based on club, coach etc.? Lots of mixed messages out there.

It really is club and team dependent. There's clubs and teams in both that are decent, some terrible. ECLR is part of ECNL so in theory a team or club or player could move up to the ECNL level if good enough.
Best bet is ask to attend a few practices at teams in your area and see what the skill level is like and coaching. Attend games once they start again to compare the competitive level

Easy question to answer. Many NTC invites went out back in September. For most ages, it looked like out of around 30 invitations the breakdown was 20 ECNL, maybe 9-10 GA and pa random EDP player. ECRL kids do not get invitations.
GA college showcases are well attended by D1 schools. That is not happening for RL.

Other states may have good quality ECRL teams. Also depends on age and coach. But...some parents are crazy about ECNL and that is all they care about even if the team, coach and their kid are not doing well.

If you can make some of the few good GALteams, great. If you can't, pick whichever has the best coaching and fit. It's pretty much a wash at that point

It all depends on club. Some clubs have been able to field really good ECRL teams at some ages that woukd absolutely beat GA some of the teams in the area.

GA has a few decent players who were left overs from the GDA days. They will be graduating out next year. Once the 2005's graduate out, all the better players will be in ECNL and then ECRL.

Every league has its dogs...The top 3 GA teams - READ TEAMS - would do fine in their ECNL age bracket as would maybe top 2 in USYS D1. ECRL not so much. They are the 2nd team for a reason.
