    strength, stamina and speed training

I have middle school kid looking to get more stamina and speed. Can be soccer specific but has very good speed on ball and skills, just needs more gas up and down field. Can anyone recommend either training group or website for development. She has done Parisi and was lukewarm. Doesn't mind doing on her own, so if there is a website that details exercises/training regimen would appreciate that.

Pay to have a quality trainer evaluate him/her. Lots of kids have wonky mechanics and a good trainer can suss that out and help them correct it. Wonky mechanics can lead to injuries as the they get older. You don't have to do a lot with the trainer - many will do an eval, do a few sessions to teach them the exercises, then let them work on their own for awhile. Worth it to make sure they're doing things right.

Check out Renegade Soccer on Web/Facebook. They have a website with multiple programs you can sign up for about 100-200 per year for all the soccer and fitness programs combined. Their pricing can be confusing so don’t overpay and “buy” it foreber for a grand when you can lease it per year. Also they run kind of like group challenges that cost extra but can be engaging to get her going. I always thought this program is a good value for self starters.

Beast Mode Soccer is another online one. Haven’t used it personally.

finally, MS is still adjusting to the big field. At some point, the athletes adjust to the running required on the big field up and down depending on position and body type. Usually coaches in tbeee are groups start to stress conditioning and fitness as it affects the team performance more.

best of luck with whichever program/supplements she goes with.

This is a major deficiency in soccer training. Clubs do no emphasize this enough and offer little or no raining. This is just as important as technical and skills development. That being said you should be careful about trainers that are not properly licensed or have little experience with soccer players. I know of players who have gotten injured from some of these sessions that have led to hamstring and hip issues. I made sure to do my homework and research trainers before I hired a trainer. One criteria is the experience with other soccer players and where they got their own training. Look for trainers that have an affiliation with either a college with a soccer program or with a professional team. Be careful.

^ club coaches really only have players a few hours a week and understandably want to focus on skills rather than fitness. Players that want to improve need to do most of it on their own.

Totally agree a good trainer is worth spending some money on assuming the player really is committed to doing the work. A trainer can work on specific deficiencies as well as make sure they're doing things properly. Doing it wrong is begging for future problems

Run. 1 mile to start and build up. Even better if you have hills.
If she runs consistently she will notice an immediate difference in her stamina. Then training can follow.

Save your money...just run and run some more distance and interval sprints ...and no amount of training can make someone actually faster..except in track where 1/10th of second matters...

Either you are born with speed or you are not....pulling sleds and running with a parachute looks impressive but if you are not Usain Bolt it won't help that much.

I hope no one listens to this person. They have no clue. Anyone can maximize their potential of whatever that might be. Having a knowledgeable trainer can definitely help.

OP said already worked with a speed trainer..and as a middle school girl she can gain stamina by running so not necessary to add yet another coach and another scheduled practice ...way too much over training. Parents need to realize that not everyone can be the top 1% .

The top 1% are born that way. it's not fair that some can work 10x harder and not come close but that is the reality so let them enjoy playing to whatever their top level may be....
as a former D1 player, a parent, and a coach....sports have become way too crazy and stressful for the kids...9.9 of 10 will not play beyond high school so let them have fun....

But then you have Carli Lloyd and Venus and Serena Williams and Kelly OHara. Every single athlete that is top 1% of their craft has devoted their lives to it. Every waking moment, every single day. So if you think a person is just born with it- you need to know that’s just not how the human body nor the brain works.

"maximizing your potential" still won't turn you into a world class sprinter or baseball pitcher or whatever. Doesn't matter how hard you work at it. Yes you'll improve and reach that potential, but there's a ceiling. The rare few not only have the drive but are also freakishly lucky in the gene pool.
