All these rumors are exaggerated, I was there, no one tired to fake numbers and the 09 players were not like bring on Messi. I honestly didn’t know you couldn’t borrow players from a younger age, if it’s not allowed fine but it should be. It’s a shame people create all these rumors and drama reality was it was a good game and that’s what should be remembered

I'm glad you were there and clear up some details. But some people know more than others that actually witnessed it

You people are creating a mountain out of a mole hill. So what he borrowed younger players, I’m a coach and I want to play against the best you got within the age or younger. This is not against the rules in most tournaments and in my opinion should not be.
just relax people csa deserved the win

Imagine losing to a team while the other team only has 13 players and they have 2 YOUNGER players. Even tho they brought up 2 YOUNGER girls, you should be able to beat kids that are YOUNGER than u. And brining up younger kids should be allowed, idk y it isn’t.

You are really complaining that younger kids played up??... sounds like some of you care too much about scores and living through your daughter. As a coach I dont mind him bringing in younger players. It isnt like they were older. Stop making this bigger than it is.

The fact that CSA Bergen parents are trying to change this narrative is insane.
There is no issue with younger players playing up, there is an issue with illegal players playing. Every soccer tournament in America does not allow non-rostered players to play. So the forfeit falls on the incompetence of your coach, manager and parents who all watched the game knowing they were in the wrong.
The fact is that the official caught the team when he noticed two #16s taking PKs. The official then noticed that one of the #16s had kinetic tape as the #1 in 16 and that the jersey was actually #6. He actually peeled down the number. That player was immediately sent off the field when she could not be properly identified and was considered a non-roster player. Question would be to everyone, why would they alter a jersey and make a girl #16 when there was already a #16 on the team? Why wouldn't she keep her #6 jersey and have two #6s instead of two #16s? The fact is that CSA has two #16s rostered and they were attempting to make a non-rostered player look like a rostered player.
This talk that jerseys were not altered and it was just younger girls playing up is false. The coach tried to get out of the situation by playing dumb and simply saying she is a younger player and claiming to not know the rules. If an A licensed coach doesn't know that all players playing need to be on a roster, then that is on him regardless if the tournament doesn't allow girls to play for multiple teams.
No issue with younger players playing. Huge issue with kids lying about their identity to play. Big difference folks. Big difference.

Regardless, they don't DQ teams for the amount of bench players. Deflection doesn't make it right.

Is it just not wanting to fill out the paperwork for the tournament? In most EDP events you just can't play for two teams in same age bracket. At least that is the way it used to be. I understand the shenanigans happen and not commenting on this specific event. Within the same club I understand moving players up and down to help at times, especially within clubs where players are stretched thin, don't think that applies her. However as having a GK kid there are times guesting is harder than it should be, especially when the team you are guesting for has had an injury or event come up unexpectedly
what he should have done was be honest and ask the opposing coach if he could have a 2009 guest up or would he rather win by forfeit.

This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for garbage programs like CSA that make me grateful that my kids play for a superior club, athletically and morally. Thank you CSA for lowering the bar on youth sports and letting everyone know where the bottom is!

Simply put it was a carded 2009 playing up to help a team that was short players and would otherwise have to forfeit. Tommy isn’t an angel but he certainly has integrity. Anyone who feels that this was done with malice or deception is a moron. He was simply trying to play the game for the sake of the other 10 or 11 girls on the 2008 team who worked hard all weekend to make it to the finals. The fact that the opposing parent is butthurt that CSA team won as it was a very contentious tournament and everyone was rooting against this group of girls.
