Same has happened to my kid before, and don't remember reading about it in public forums. No one was asking who should get the win. Instead, the home team graciuosly agreed to play the game at our home instead. Granted, the circumstances were very different.

Was the showcase well attended by college coaches? Was the level of play as they expected? I'd have thought those would be more interesting questions...
Totally get there’s a college showcase and can understand that taking priority. BUT If they had just told us the night before there’s a chance we won’t have a field because of weather we have a showcase going on, we could have played at our fields instead. Or if they let us know more than an hour before the 9:30 kickoff, it wouldn’t have been a problem either. It’s about being respectful to your opponents and not making them travel only to find out there’s no game.

PDA thinks they're above common courtesy. Just look at the ridiculous responses from the arrogant PDA parents in this thread to see everything you need to see their complete lack of class.

In case you haven't picked up on it I'll fill you in - no one agrees with you. A minor irritation in the grand scheme of things. Gobkick a puppy or something

You're not going to make it through u little to high school soccer. If you don't keel over from a coronary, your kid will probably quit (because you're sucking the fun out of everything) and no club will want you as a club parent.

A pathetic overly dramatic attempt to blame a parent for PDA's poor decision making.

I agree. If it were the reverse there would calls, threats. It’s just not cool. How can you not see that?

                  Answering your own posts?

Mistakes happen.. Weather happens. Refs don't show up. It happens at EVERY CLUB from time to time.

I’m a new poster, PDA parent older kid - read this and think it’s wrong and could have been avoided that’s all.

I think the point is that this could have been avoided. Doesn't sound like this was a last minute tournament. I'm sure the game was scheduled weeks prior. How anyone is ripping anyone but the home team is crazy. Early game sounds like a far drive for them. Seems vindictive.

Frost during the night required last minute changes to the schedule.

Like I would say to my kids after a mistake, bad grade on a test, etc. “What are you going to do so that you don't make the same mistake again?" Seems pretty straightforward - if a club is hosting a Showcase or tournament, do not schedule any other games at that site that weekend. Any home teams not in showcase are going to need to play away games that weekend. Even if you don't have scheduling problems for field time, parking will absolutely suck and you don't need u11 parent cars adding to it.

That seems like something you and your wife need to discuss privately. LOL

It happens, neither team is happy about it. You are not the all mighty exception to the rule. Stop whining.
It was totally avoidable. Everyone understands things happen but when the prep is so poor and the communications is non-existent PDA losese the "#it happens" card. This particular example is not what we are all used to experiencing. When my kid was at PDA south they frequently forgot to schedule refs. At least the other teams could still scrimmage them.
