And what is your definition of every age group? Seems to be a few missing.

And that’s just the girls side. Boys side has lots of top teams too. Clearly they’re just taking everyone’s money and not producing anything with it. Oh, except top teams in the state in every age group.
boys are nowhere near as good…

2010, 2009, 2008 are all good. Don't forget you have the MLS Next teams in these rankings too, so obviously, they'll be a notch down from them.

So would you say for the boys side that ECNL is a step below MLS Next? and then on the girls side GAL is a step below ECNL? so the Boys ECNL is a similar level to GAL and Girls ECNL is a similar level to MLS Next?

Then play somewhere else, why bother.

I'm the original poster. My son plays on an MF ECNL team and my daughter on an MF ECNL team. In my opinion, the Boys ECNL teams (on average) are on par with the "bottom-tier" of the MLSNext teams (CSA, Real, TSF, etc) and significantly below the "real" MLS Academies (Red Bulls, Union, NYC FC, etc).

On the girls side, it's similar. The top ECNL teams are significantly better than most of the GAL team while the top GAL teams are on par or better than the bottom ECNL teams (i.e. MD United, FC Bucks, PDA South, etc).

If the teams are so solid why have ID clinics in December to add new players?
