Don't forget no club/team/coach is better then mine and ODP is a waste of money, but that about sums things up here

Yeah. I forgot odp, csa, gda, mls next... My point is that it is almost impossible to get good advice here. I know kids that have played in most of the organizations/teams/leagues mentioned, and most are pretty happy.

It would be very useful to get advice, but, regrettably, you don't know when you read 100 negative reviews here, if they come from 100 people or just a couple.

It's pretty clear that there is a relatively small number of people who post over and over on here. You can tell by their writing style (use of same phrases, spelling errors, grammar, themes they latch on to, etc.). These people have a real interest in propping one club up or putting others down. If you really think about it, yeah a disgruntled parent might come on to complain or vent for a short period of time, but who would be doing this for months or even years?

Is there a Facebook group analogous to TS that provides a forum to discuss soccer in NJ? Wondering if taking away user anonymity or having an admin to moderate discussions would help reduce the amount of trolling that creates all this noise to sift through on TS.

yeah there is, but its all sunshine and roses. No one vents or complains. which is nice, but you know it's not the real deal.

TS is mostly entertainment with an occasional bit of information you can use. However, always verify with real people in real life rather than take anything here as gospel. Keep in mind anonymous bashing works well for competing clubs. Also keep in mind most soccer parents are pretty normal and don't spend their time arguing about top u11 teams.

Supposedly another state board tried a registered board but it tanked.

TS is just for entertainment. Anyone coming on here for real advise is seriously misguided. There is nothing but disgruntled parents and coaches spewing nonsense and hate about everything and everyone.

Ah thanks, that makes much more sense when you put it in that perspective. I’m still fairly new to this forum, so was caught by surprise by how much vitriol there is around here. But now I know I gotta treat it like a WWF pro wrestling match and just enjoy the show with its various actors thumping their chests and talking trash. I’ve found so many parts of it annoying, but changing the perspective to one of entertainment may make it more tolerable. Thanks for that insight!
