I wonder how they will schedule games, some of those teams are very far from each other. Sounds like a great idea as long as quality clubs are a part of it with depth at all age groups.

On the surface it looks like an MLS Next "B" type league. MLS will directly link or control the boys youth soccer pipeline and simultaneously take pressure off club academies like NYRB, the Union and NYCFC to grow and recruit by themselves. Look at all the club announcements this summer like "we are proud of (our star) of moving onto NYRB/Union/NYCFC and continuing his pathway".... It looks like MLS and USL's relationship in youth soccer is toast as now they have 2 youth seperate "A" youth leagues in MLS Next and USL Academy and now 2 "B" seperate feeder leagues. MLS Academies will still take the current top boys but these league will keep associate clubs going while MLS clubs can still keep tabs on development without spending more money. This will be oustide of the Boys ECNL, which now may feel pressure to counter by adding more clubs and/or sanctioning their current club's satelite locations.

Last year the northeast division of the Elite Academy league was 10 of those 17 teams listed. Not sure if there was a New England division with the Other 7 teams. Looks like there is no longer a North East division through Elite Academy League and it moved here.
NorthEast of EA: Metropolitan Oval, Cedar Stars Bergen, TSF, Cedar Star Monmouth, New York Soccer Club, FC Westchester, Beachside, BW Gottschee, LI Slammers

Is there a link referencing The Pathway League? I haven't heard anything about it. Thanks.
