Not all Blue players were very good.

So some of those riding the pine from Blue had to have an idea that they were not going to be more than practice player and not rostered or traveled like they were in club.

Better to have an RU shirt than an FDU shirt.

In some positions, that is true based on what I have seen the past several seasons Depending on the recruit. They graduated out a lot of their depth following the college cup year.

If you weren't rostered/traveled with Blue or in the top 8 kids on the team why would Rutgers even want them as practice players?

I think they meant were they top of club roster or middle to bottom?

from what i can see, these are the practice players on RU who don't travel or wear a shirt that they are rostered for games.
Could be easily displaced by a better recruit on the roster.

Agree 100%. MN left after that run as well.

Also true. Not top to bottom best. Maybe they were best in the club but that does not mean compartively best vs others.

Bottom line is RU needs to look outside the club as well.

The u18/u19 PDA blue teams are better than most midmajor D1 college teams. Most parents think their kids are better than they are because of this and want their kids going to power 5 conferences. When RU comes calling, parents and kids think that their kids will work their way into the starting line-up. The problem is, no matter how good an incoming freshman is, they have to worry about the upper-classwomen that may have been in that starting position the last couple of years. The kids find themselves on the bench for the first two years and become discouraged. The players would be better off checking their ego and go to a mid major school that will give them an opportunity to get on the field.

Just simple math and reality. If one is not consistently the best player (at least in that discussion) on the field each and every game it equates to at least a hundred girls if not more that you would need to beat out to earn a spot.

The reality is there are very few "elite" players and the bulk fall in that really big layer below that where they are indistinguishable from each other.

And there are some coaches that can not distinguish those that are elite vs the big layer as they can be blinded by loyalty and such.

Conference play has started. Good luck to our Scarlet Knights.

Getting back to player discussions - what top NCAA players have come out of pda the last 5 years outside of any RU players, have there been any?...

Jyllissa Harris. Sorry if I spelled her name wrong. There could be more that’s just the first girl who came to mind

Yep. I can't think of any others.
That is why the PDA players should stay home. JH would have been great at RU too. Actually had she stayed, RU would have been national champions.
