If you did, you would have the clarity you seek and would quiet down.
Kids are welcome to go train with other clubs. But, right, forgot...NOBODY IS TRAINING RIGHT NOW. The plug was pulled well ahead of "tryout" season.
HS is simple: If you want to play, and it's allowed by your school, have fun. You need to practice once a week with the Club. But, the Club will continue to train full time with those who do not. If there are enough players to have a game, they will. If there is not, they will old off as with other leagues and play a compacted schedule. Not sure how that is unclear.
US Soccer did screw over many people. Super glad that the Clubs, who weren't always on the friendliest of terms, put their individual differences and collectively put together a model that will work for each Region and Club. They took what they liked about USSF, discarded what they didn't, and moved forward.
Seriously. If you have a question, just ask someone. IS and CS at SU are more than willing to have a conversation with any prospective player if it's clarity you seek.
Repeatedly posting "what you heard" doesn't really help matters much.
