Out west is about the place place GDA is working - the player pool is vast enough to support it and promote only the top players, plus a stronger soccer culture and some great clubs. The best NE GDA can hope for is to stay even with ECNL, and depending on the club that isn't even happening.

So, say the above is true (I somewhat agree, not completely), if it's worse than ECNL (of which there is no viable ECNL option for most so it's a moot point) and better than NPL (which I do believe is the case), would that be "acceptable"?

^^ Agreed.
What if this is the train my kid wants and is having fun and improving at it? The logo inofitself doesn't mean much, but what it brings she/we are happy with. Why not proceed?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThen great, enjoy. But I recommend and annual review before spring tryouts. Everything keeps changing from teams to clubs to leagues. More importantly, so do the kids. Burnout and stress is a real thing. If it's not fun, stop and find a new strategy.
Do you want to stay where you are? Try to play on another team within the club? Make the switch you want to do? Punt it all, and just go to town travel? What do YOU want to do?
Every year we sit and do the same, I would like to think this isn't unique - maybe it is? Every year is different, coaches change, leagues change, teammates change. This is a wise practice for everyone.

U17 isn’t competitive
Another shutout loss for the “elite “ girls soccer program in N.H. so far 0-3 and they have not scored a goal yet. Didn’t Bob Seeger sing about this... Still the Same

Dontcha know? The SUSC girls weren't being properly challenged in NPL so they switched to GDA for the development. The training. The coaching. The monitoring. Who cares if they don't belong there and lose every weekend and drive all over hell to embarrass themselves and make teams drive to them for zero competition and basically water down the entire region? They will be MONITORED, damnit!

The "influx" of MA players to their GDA program has not happened and wont happen because they are not competitive in the GDA. SUSC was moderately successful in NPL in 2016 - 2017. If they were dominant then a jump to GDA would have made sense. But middle of the road talent in NPL can't compete at the GDA or ECNL level.
Parents of GDA players in a year or two will have wasted a college tuition payment on a level of soccer their daughter was not capable of playing but SUSC made money.
