Looks like Londonderry girls were down by 2 goals early in the game and BG had a chance to make it 3 with a PK. There were a few yellow cards - must have been an intense game.

looks like wind played a factor also. The BG player in high on keepers head could have been red card.

Which elbow do you mean? The first one on the second BG goal (0:43), or the one in the second half (4:38). Same player swinging for goalie's head each time. Watch the parent pull their video.

Knowing the BG coach as I do, I fully expect they were instructed to try to take her out.

I'm assuming 4:38 where the player didn't even check on the health of the girl she just laid out with a headshot. First one didn't look intentional just a bad collision. Hard to tell from a highlight video if the dirty plays involved both teams.

You must be blind or a Londonderry parent, on the second goal the player makes a diagonal run in front of the keeper heads the ball over the keeper who's comeing out for the ball (was late) and collides.

There was cheap play by both teams that the officials could have called tighter in the first half to ensure it didn't get out of hand. Londonderry was 2 hand shoving repeatedly but the Londonderry parents must see that as good play.

Both are good teams with vastly different styles of play.

Different poster and I was not at the game. I am neither blind, nor a Londonderry parent. I have only seen the video linked above. I saw the same play you describe. I would add that the player's right elbow took a weird swing on the header.

I would look at it the same way as a player coming in studs up who does not necessarily connect and break an ankle. It's reckless regardless of whether the play injured someone or not.

Sounds like it was a physical game on both sides. Good luck/health with the rest of the season!

Definitely a few questionable and overly aggressive plays from both teams in that video ... but BG player swinging for the keepers head a few times is not cool. The refs needed to reign that game in quite a bit.

I'm sure these teams will meet again in the tourney. Definitely a game to watch to see if the referees can control the aggressive play or not. Should be a heated battle.

2nd Goal by BG - correct no yellow card - bang bang play with BG player looking up to see where goalie and she gets to the ball just in time.
Yellow on Londonderry defender to push in the back - justified
Yellow on BG striker - iffy
Collision at 4:48 by BG player (same player as above) with Londonderry goalie - definite yellow with clear disregard for the goalie and then for the ref as he is giving the yellow. Ref should have been more assertive when giving the yellow and not just let the player walk away from him.

Agree. The head shot on keeper is red card. BG is better than that but I don't blame player. Thats coached behavior. Both teams have so much talent that would show better in a well fought, well officiated, clean game.

Londonderry 3, BG 2.

Guertin needs to show they can beat one of the top teams. Close but no cigar so far; losses to Central, Bedford, and now Londonderry. They don't play Exeter.

Londonderry given up 5 goals in last two games, more than they have all season.

Exeter has dodged most of the top teams, but that Londonderry win can't be discounted.
