You can't discount wins where they totally dominate or taking down an always good program in winn. Agree they will prove their metal against top squads but all indications are they are one of those top squads

Keene boys are for real. They have good back line play and 3 or 4 legitimate scoring options up front & on the wings.

Londonderry boys are benefiting from a weak schedule right now. Central & Concord are still the class of the field.

Why cant you discount dominant wins against poor teams? There is a very clear distinction between the "haves" and the "have nots" in division 1 girls soccer and even in a down year last year Londonderry has always firmly been in the "haves". For the original poster to say that Londonderry is the top 1 or 2 team in Division 1 based solely on beating 3 teams that wont make the playoffs is a bit much. Look at the scores when it is all said and done and you will see that those teams that they "dominated" were equally dominated by the other top 4 teams mentioned. If Londonderry goes 2-2 against the teams that are predicted to be top 4 or 5, then I will absolutely agree with you that they deserve to be in the discussion as a top team.

Let's also see what shakes out of this Development Academy controversy that is currently being discussed in the DA thread which resolves around one of that team's best players.

The NHIAA website is saying that Concord girls tied Nashua South tonight 4-4. Were the weather conditions that bad or is the score a typo?

Weather was fantastic and yes the score is correct. South (who had neither won a game nor scored a goal this season) was beating Concord 3-2 at the half and 4-2 at the beginning of the second half. Concord parents were in shock. A couple of South defensive blunders brought the score to 4-4 (defense deflected ball to a striker in the box instead of clearing the ball, defense allowed a kick and run breakaway that resulted in 1 on 1 with the keeper). No score during both overtime periods.

Do you know anything about how south has played this season or simply going by scores on NHIAA? They have dominated those other games but just couldn't score. Even central is misleading because they were outplaying them until they had to play with 10 due to a red card. They are no where near as bad as their record looks and most would say top 8 or 9.

Pardon my ignorance but they play overtime in high school soccer during regular season?

Did the GPS connection make a stop in Merrimack before it got to BG?

South played well but Concord played down to their competition. I have a connection to the Concord team and they were looking past these next two games with South & Keene. Concord was sloppy with the ball and did not play with any energy.

On another note in DI girls soccer... It is time for Spaulding and Keene should petition down to DII. It would be a win win for these programs. First - they might be competitive with more programs there. Second, travel for both teams would be better - Keene would play Lebanon, Hanover, Conval, Milford, and Concord area schools and avoid the travel to the seacoast. Spaulding would play Oyster River, Coe-Brown, Kennett, Kingswood, and Sanborn.

South Girls are way better than record would show. Early season key injuries are over and they should be a part of the overall discussion. I doubt Concord was looking past them.

I don't doubt they were. Just going into the game and seeing the records, and knowing what Concord still had ahead of them, most teams would.

How would Concord know about injuries and future and how they may improve? They would only see 0-3-1.

Now, I have no idea if that affected the game or result, but your two statements are mutually exclusive.

Different poster...Not exactly exclusive...coaches and teams know the other teams in the state. I don't think it is any big secret this year that South should be decent. They are not top 5 like Concord but still respectable. And looking at the scores on NHIAA makes it a little difficult to assess. That being said, South dominated the first half and look like a team that know how to play at the very least (and starting center back still out as she was on the bench). Concord wasn't playing with lack of energy in my mind, they were just being outplayed. Second half Concord got some rhythm and took over the game. GD is a force. That made South tired and in survival mode even being up goals. Overtime was relatively even.

Concord will be top 5 for sure (along with Londonderry, Exeter, Central, and Bedford). South needs to win those games they dominate against weaker teams or it is going to be a long year. They are good enough to be top 7 but just dug a big hole for themselves.

Ha, BG has been a mediocre program for so long. Grabbing a couple of players from GPS won't make an immediate impact.
