    Seacoast Minor Issue...

So are the rumors true? Did 15 Seacoast Coaches get deported for bad Visa's?

    #2
You seem determined to find out the answer on this. Shoot them an email? Pick up the phone?

Does GPS not have coaches leave and return every year on temporary visas? Or even worse, pay them under the table when they are on a holiday visa? That would be bad news if that surfaced!!

I do not know about GPS, but Seacoast losing 15 coaches to false visa filings is something interesting, don't you think?

Until it's more than innuendo, not really. GPS and Seacoast are always targeted, mostly falsely, so I'll hold off for now. Unless you can prove it otherwise.

How do you know it is false visa filings? Do you have inside information or just making stuff up?

Different poster here, not rumor, truth. No big deal really, just a bunch of coaches sent home.

What % of the coaches? What impact does it have on their teams? Which levels/genders were affected? Could be an issue, short term to ensure they have quality to cover the season and also to see who/how they are going to cover it going forward.

The coaches I know from there wouldn't have any visa issues to contend with, but I don't know many. I'm not part of the program, just some acquaintances built up over the year.

This is an organization that had to cut down and sell tree's around a previously scenic field in order to pay bills.

Seacoast is a giant, mismanaged mess. If you haven't done so lately, take a few steps on any of the fields. The turf is like concrete and has to take a toll on young knee's. And they don't have money to pay coaches so this crap isn't being replaced anytime soon. Bad organization from top to bottom. Listen to your intuition when you suspect that your son or daughter is learning nothing here. The sooner you move on the better.

This is all complete BS - my son is new to Seacoast U this year - and so far, the club has placed him on the proper team (P Blue), with a highly competent coach (RT) and excellent players surrounding him. The club is very professional and organized at this level from our perspective - and their tryout/team placement is incredibly accurate. My impression has always been they are very professional from top to bottom.

I've walked on the Seacoast fields, as well as Lancaster, FC Stars, Valeo, Bryant, and many others. ANY TURF is very hard on players knees and ankles (I tore my achilles playing on turf) - I've never believed soccer is best on turf. But, these are the realities of playing the modern game for youth (and professional) in the US - its all on TURF.

Like any club, Seacoast places the best coaches on the highest team quality - so if your kid is not on the better teams you get a younger less experienced coach - not unlike any of the programs in NE - simple allocation of resources.

Proof is in the player's development. We came from a new program last year in NH that stressed technical player development - and it was important and invaluable to my son as a player. This year we have moved over to get the tactical education of which, Seacoast United has exceeded my expectations already...

Everyone has different experience with different programs depending on the quality of their child as a player as well as, more importantly what shade of rose colored glasses they see their child through.

Most of the complaints about Seacoast are misdirected (and I'm not involved with them); however, you had to at least admit their turf is very tired. When they were put in, they were the latest in greatest. Like any synthetic surface, it wears down with overuse. They've been in place a long time, and it's time to replace them.

You sound like an expert since your son has been there a few weeks. Lol! There are always more than normal the amount of dissatisfied customers at Seacoast (boys side specifically). I believe it's because they are struggling so much with Academy that this is always their focus... When your focus is on that limited piece of your product, the other parts will suffer. Unfortunately, even that hasn't helped with their Academy program...

Come watch some of the younger academy teams. Great players and some very good soccer.

I am not sure where you came to this conclusion of selling land/trees to pay bills, but you are a little off in this part of your issue against Seacoast. They are adding new fields to the complex and renewing the existing turf on other fields. If you are going to make things up, try and be a little more creative.

I believe you are partially correct here. Their priorities are disproportionately placed on that small fraction of their product. That being said, the following poster is correct in saying that:

And the fact that Seacoast is improving their infrastructure is great news for all players in the area.
