I don't condone the parents who come here to brag about their kid and team but a parent who comes here to bash a team is worse. Let the parents brag because we all know that karma is a bitch but you should STFU.

Anyone know how the groups for U14G were determined? All of the other age groups for the girls seem to make sense - the best team has the easier path to the finals either by getting a bye or playing the weakest team in the bracket in the semis. But for some reason, the Seacoast and FC Stars U14 teams were placed in the same group while GPS has a much easier path to the finals. That doesn't make any sense.

This whole thing is a joke. So the top two teams play each other and tie. Then they play an inferior team with no goal differential to see who can beat the crap out of the team worse and THAT is who makes it in??? Wrong on so many levels. I thought the spirit was to have the best teams play to see who represents the state at nationals. Can anyone logically tell me how this makes sense?? The rules in nationals is a 4 goal differential. After that either or a rematch or a shootout makes sense... This ruling of no goal diff is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. And those two teams played in like early April. ***?? Who sets this crap up? Oh and they played on one of the teams home field. I can't even make this stuff up.... Even better the third team is an affiliated team AND they played after so they knew the score. Lol.

What does last year even matter? What are for soccer points for if not for ranking teams? Seems odd to let last years results impact this years standings. Use the rankings folks. Seems pretty simple

This whole thing is a joke. So the top two teams play each other and tie. I agree with you that it would be best if both teams just played each other again. I don't agree with your complaint about a home field. I am sure they wanted the games on turf and a location where there are multiple fields. That really leaves just Seacoast or GPS for the fields and it is good that they used both facilities. I think the Seacoast team got to play second because they were the first seed because they won last year. The affiliated team used 2 stronger goalies in the second game so no advantage there. I know they probably used last year's results to make the brackets but there should have been more consideration of who to place in which bracket which solves a lot of these problems.

Can't disagree with many of your points. Should have played the stars vs Seacoast game at GPS location to be fair but whatever. The point is really just that it is an awful way to settle who wins the state championship. Teams should play again or at least shootout which isn't much fun either but at least the score can be settled. Hope they take a look at this debacle and fix it for future years

Those may be the rules for the national tournament, but if the state rules are different, then everyone was playing by the state rules. It sucks for the Express team that got beat up by Stars and Seacoast, but those were the rules.

With all sincere respect the express team,!thet should play in presidents cup. There are 3 teams with a legit shot at winning. Yes I know anything can happen..... But the top 3 teams should have to beat each other to see who deserves to go. Original poster is correct in that this result leaves a lot to be desired in terms of a real winner. Any honest person would agree. Not sure about rules. But if the state rules are different, that is odd and also kinda dumb. Goal differentials are meant to protect teams like the express so teams layoff once up. And also to makes sure that you have to beat the other top opponents to move on. This clearly doesn't happen in these ridiculous set up

Agree. President's Cup was made for lower level club teams. Only problem is the ******* contest between USYS and US Club that screwed up the soccer landscape in New Hampshire (and New England). Neither will cross "enemy" lines. So now the US Club teams beat up on lower level teams, and in some cases their own "B" teams. Most age groups end up with only one meaningful game. With few exceptions it ends up GPS's #1 team versus Seacoast's #1 team. And on the USYS side, if your kid plays for World Cup, Timberwolves or LUSC, then you miss out, because not enough teams left to have any sort of tournament. USYS state cup is dead and gone.
