i am looking for information about soccer in my town. i can across this site and i see in the archives there is some information. i got a strange email from a lady purporting to be a past league president and i was looking for guidance. my kids are little and play soccer in town. i googled londonderry soccer, and her name in the archives here she talks about soccer in town. we are supposed to vote tonight any information would be helpful. her name is patti maccabe i don't know how she even got my email. does anyone know about this? thank you Mary

Further digging shows you have Londonderry United competing with the Londonderry Youth Soccer. Get used to it, happening to many towns.
Depending on the age of your kids and abilities, I'd guess you would have to determine which is more competitive. Just a guess, United is more competitive than the Youth, which is more of a rec league.

She was the past president and a new president was voted in. The VP is a town councilor with a big ego who ran the whole thing. Shady guy who looked untrustworthy. But the new president has been with them a while and has kids playing and refereeing. She has been on the board over 10 years. She seems level headed. I hope she puts the shady VP in his place. I understand there has been some turmoil within the league because of him.Comment

YES there is turmoil with LYSA for the first time since ever and it all goes to two people who know nothing how to work with a town rec league or even people in general, bringing more riff than good to the league. I know of them well and hear how they have ruined this league. The league was a great easy to deal with, down to earth, rec soccer club and it's board made the mistake of taking on Joe Green and Sam Schreiner who are power hungry imbasols seeking rules only to fit their personal needs. Joe is knicknamed Woody by many town people, standing for 'Pinnochi-Joe' because he lies about everything. Sam is referred to as SSIP, Self Serving Indulgent Person. In many's opinion Joe does not even realize when he is lying. He can't help it. It's in his blood. Chronic liar. Sam does imply to anyone around him that he is number one. Sam says he knows everything but he is known for not doing a thing since coming on board over 3 years ago. Patti's email was all facts. Really now answer this? How are you treasurer and not do the books? not do taxes? and not know what the process of running a league is AFTER 3 YEARS!!! DOG NAM IT THEY HAD ALL THEY COULD DO TO GET THE IRS TO REVERSE THE PENALTY FINE. Pathetic to say the least. I know them all well. Patti moved out of town but tried to have Joe and Sam either step up to the plate or leave. She did seek help from the rec dept who consulted for her to have them accountable for their actions or lack of. When Sam was attempting to go for president Patti let everyone know who he really is and why he really doesn't qualify.
And I know for a fact that everyone will learn of Joe if he attempts to stay on. Everyone will know of Joe if he runs for town council next year too. His record already includes his stealing email addresses from LAFA and LYSA to send out solicitation from his AOL account requesting votes for town council. The entire board wanted him off but he met with them and apologized and I know Patti is still kicking herself now for convincing the other board members to keep him on. He stole players from other teams after the drafts putting them on his team roster because he had that power as registrar. It was wrong, unethical, and he was reprimanded for 3 years in a row. But he had no remorse and tried it again and again. Kids don't even want to play for him anymore. Great coaches have left the league because of him. U18 went down to nothing due to him. Nancy Thornton and Paul Derrioco who were the coordinators of U12, U15 and U18 at that time wanted him off the board. Town folk as well as LYSA folk wanted him off the board. Patti stupidly kept him there but had to watch his every move.
Unfortunately he just tried to screw her recently using his town council title but that was closed and labeled 'power struggle'.
He has the same record with town council, all talk no action. I would tell you more but have to check to see if there is a lawsuit coming into play first against him.
Kerri is the new president and the ONLY ONE on the board who was selected by the members. The hope is she will bring our league back to where it used to be before Woody and SSIP came on. We haven't signed our two youngest on for spring yet because we are not sure of playing with LYSA anymore. Our oldest played since she was 3 years old back when there was not a U4. BTW Every time we have had questions or had a hard time with the registration site it has been Patti and Kerri that helped us through. Joe is useless with a capital U.
Patti used to play until she blew out her knee.
So yes, this league needs help cleaning up the dead weight.Comment

Are you referring to Patti or the new president? You should provide facts if you're going to start slinging mud about someone. My experiences with both have never been unfriendly. Quite the opposite in fact.Comment

I think the person(s) who write and can back up with facts is not slinging. The person(s) who throw out insults of opinion are the slingers.
