Age change rumors in club soccer

Has anyone heard whether this is just a rumor or will be an actual change?

Currently age groups are determined by birth month and year:
example: Current U12 (born between 08/01/2002 to 07/31/2003)
This change would be January thru December of one year?

I have no idea if this is true, wondering if anyone has any actual insight.

ODP does this. I'm not sure it would work for club soccer though. The ages are more aligned with school and grades.

US Club Soccer has a tentative plan to go to calendar year at the end of the 2015/2016 season. This would include all NEP/NPL teams.

Will they allow teams already constructed to maintain the soccer year and all new teams U9 to start with Calender year?
