Seacoast partnering with North Shore United?

Heard a rumor that we are partnering with North Shore United out of Topsfield....anyone hearing anything?

Probably NS wants to get into NEP. That is just one convenient solution.

exactly - but I did some research...they have a couple of good teams - could help a few seacoast teams U13 and up.

Not to be ignorant but what exactly does "partnering" with mean? Seacoast coaches work with the Club, but club runs separately and continues basically "as is" on their own. Or, does Seacoast take over the running of the Club, etc... Anyone know? Of course, guess it's speculation at this point.

what I heard from a friend who's son plays at NSU is that it will mostly benefit U13 and up - they will combine the players to create the NPL teams - other than that, I would guess it's status quo for the ones that dont make it

Not for boys... I don't think. They have Pre-Academy / DAP. Maybe meant NEP or DAP... But for DAP you'd be talking about very few players from NSU. I could be wrong on this though the 3 letter designations can be confusing. NEP, DAP, NPL, ABC, XYZ.

NEP is a participating league of NPL. NEP has a specific division for NPL teams and holds championship series, like state cup, for teams to qualify for their national championship tournament. NEPAL is part of the NPL.

I can't see how they will easily combine some of the teams, given that I would guess the NPL teams would practice up near or in Epping. Maybe a few families would be interested for those parents that have the time and inclination to commute. The NSU families would have to travel quite a distance for practices, games etc. I just can't see the logistics of it for those kids that would make an NPL team - traveling an hour each way for practices? Hmmm...not sure it would be of interest.

partices would be geographically located based on majority of players - if that's closer to NSU fields then Byfield, if not, then Epping

This is all so weird. We got two emails from NSu in the past few months that there is no merger or sale happening for the club. so now this rumor?

My player is currently on an NPL team should I be prepared to split already shared playing time with new, better players? How do the already established players feel about spending the same amount, and playing less?

Well yes... You should always be prepared for added "better" players to come aboard. Seacoast is brutal like that. It's a business. On the other hand, according to these rumors, this wouldn't start until next Fall, right? You may be ok until then.
