Alright - there seem to be quite a few soccer parent know-it-all's out there - lets see how tactically astute you are. Which does your team play (the tried and true 4 at the back or the current fad of 3 at the back) and which do you prefer and why?

This can be tricky, but you need a combination of speed and communication. If your team has trust in your center back and allows him/her to communicate/direct to the team and you have the speed go three and add the extra player in a defensive/attacker mode. Mind you, you need a center back that can see the field, communicate, and posses the speed. Not too many of those around. Otherwise go four. Nothing wrong with numbers in the back field.

Most of those traits don't exist in outside back but rather midfield or forward
I would only play this formation when behind or need to score goals. It's high risk and reward system.
