Alright - there seem to be quite a few soccer parent know-it-all's out there - lets see how tactically astute you are. Which does your team play (the tried and true 4 at the back or the current fad of 3 at the back) and which do you prefer and why?

This can be tricky, but you need a combination of speed and communication. If your team has trust in your center back and allows him/her to communicate/direct to the team and you have the speed go three and add the extra player in a defensive/attacker mode. Mind you, you need a center back that can see the field, communicate, and posses the speed. Not too many of those around. Otherwise go four. Nothing wrong with numbers in the back field. -

Most of those traits don't exist in outside back but rather midfield or forward
I would only play this formation when behind or need to score goals. It's high risk and reward system.Comment
