Here's the deal...whether you think someone is on the seacoast board or futsal board -- I would say the majority (by a lot) of the top players in the world have played futsal as a child. That speaks volumes

Let's all be clear, none of us has a 'top' player. If your child enjoys futsal go play, if they want to play indoor, go play, if you like to ski...go skiing. It does not matter!

I completely agree. Let the bashing stop. If you son/daughter likes what Seacoast offers. go play there. If you want to do Futsol, go do it. We are fortunate that we have these options and the kids can develop a love for the game in this area and WE appreciate the opportunities.

I said one of the reasons...so read a comment before trying to undermine someone's justified comments. There's obviously a gripe or jealousy directed at Seacoast. It's sad you have to resort to this forum to force your bitterness on others.

Currently players from Seacoast United are being contacted regarding Futsal
over the winter months from organizations not affiliated with Seacoast United; I
want to make it clear to everyone that this is not an endorsed product from
Seacoast United. At Barcelona young players at U12 have to choose whether they
are going to play Futsal or real soccer, this is because the real game is
            totally different to Futsal.

Last year as a club we entered some of our teams into this Futsal league and
came up with some interesting findings. I recorded games that our teams
participated in and found that the ball was out of bounds for half of the game
time, players were shooting using their toe to help generate power rather than
using the correct technique, GK were throwing the ball long and forward most of
the time due to the rules preventing back passes to them which is something
Seacoast United and US soccer encourage to help keep possession.
Side line balls were scooped into the air towards goal creating 50/50
challenges in the air instead of passing into a team mates feet, the reason for
this is the focus from the teams playing was all about winning which at this age
            works against development.

I personally coach some of these games and witnessed coaches screaming at
players instead of encouraging them, on top of this the travel involved and cost
for the program was something I was not happy with.
Attached is a sample of one of the videos that was taken to highlight my
            concerns.

To give seacoast United players a better environment for developing over the
winter myself, Peter Decker, Chris Scott, Ian Burgess and US Soccer Development
Academy coaches will be conducting regular sessions (details to be released) at
the Rim facility based at Hampton, these sessions will be more specific to
development and still provide the player with the opportunity to play Futsal.

My recommendation to all players at Seacoast United is to wait for the details
of our program and not to accept invitations that are being targeted at our
            players.

I certainly don't profess to know more than the guys at Seacoast, but I have been coaching youth soccer since the late 80's and will say that Futsal was a revelation to my now U11 Derry Eagles team. Having the guys at Futsal NH train the team once a week was invaluable, and having Bruno and Tom available to discuss tactics was also a must for us coaches. Those guys are excellent. Futsal WILL expose those technically weaker players though and perhaps frustrate all because of their lack of ball control and passing ability - your first few games aren't pretty! It did force the players to keep control of the ball and make good decisions with their passes which absolutely translated to better possession outdoors . It also increases quickness of thought as well as increase shooting leg strength which was very obvious when we went outdoors. Last winter, my team only played Futsal. One thing that has not been addressed, which is amazing to me, was that Futsal made the transition to 8v8 very easy for my boys. If you play a 3-3-1 outdoors (without the ball), Futsal will teach the boys faster than any drills, exercises or team talks will! Essentially the 3-3-1 is our Futsal formation (3-1) with a back 3 added, it promotes building numbers forward on attack (and getting back to defend with the loss of the ball) in both sports. Just my two cents...and BTW, German teams play futsal too...

The problem is Seacoast will black ball you if you choose other outside programs over them...just ask around.

Wow. After reading the Ian’s letter from seacoast, I find it interesting that what I got from the letter is so different than what I see as chaotic posting which leads me to believe that this is really about business and making money. It’s apparent that a particular Futsal program is worried and as a result they are posting these negative comments. The message I got from Ian’s Scott’s letter was that Seacoast United would be offering a Futsal program which they would be able to control and provide smoother transition for soccer players as it’s evident that Futsal and soccer are two different sports as he made reference to Barcelona having Futsal players play Futsal after age 12 and soccer players play soccer after 12. For me and my family, I think that’s a very educated decision and after reading this I think it will be best for my three children to go into a program that offers everything for their individual development in a sport that they love. Obviously, they endorse the Futsal program since they are offering a Futsal program which is in compete contrast of what is being posted in this thread. In search of credibility, I checked to see where the most certified coaches were and by far, Seacoast United had more certified coaches than any other club in NH.

PS. My husband wanted me to include this, there is a saying in his native country Brazil, when you kick a ball in the stands, the fan that yells the most is the one who got hit by the ball. So NH Futsal must be an inferior program since all this negative posting is coming from them and their affiliations since this letter from Ian Scott at Seacoast was merely an informative letter that they were offering a Futsal program that was tailored to soccer player’s development path.

Funny, all of the people posting Ian's letter are actually from Seacoast, only those of us on teams got the e-mail. So I don't understand why you are assuming that these posts are originating from FutsalNH. Some of us play for Samba too. I know the older teams who have been successful in futsal and soccer in NH feel like Seacoast is trying to own our kids with this move. We like the different coaches and the change of pace from the regulars over at Seacoast. We like the growth we have seen in all of the players. We think the other two organizations have far more experience with futsal than Seacoast does. We want to shop around so our kid gets a better variety of coaching the off season, and that is our complaint here. If Seacoast were smart the would understand that their program has grown from the players getting to know one another while playing futsal, and then going to tryouts with their friends at Seacoast that they met over the winter. Nobody can tell Ian Scot this directly b/c while I don't think we would blackballed, I don't think it would be well received either. So this is really the only way for us to discuss it without starting a a discussion on the sidelines that would be taken as an act of rebellion by Seacoast. As far as certified coaches go, I would rather have better coaches, and I will leave it at that.

Dead on. Fully agree with the benefits of having a variety of coaching and the expected response that you will get from Ian & company on this item.

Any coach/administrator who is fearful that a player will leave them IF they go to another activity to me isn't a good coach or and administrator. We see examples ALL of the time of parents/players loving a coach that they feel helps them accomplish their goal whatever that goal is and supports their thirst for knowledge. So if your good at your craft, understand individual and group goals and dynamics your not afraid of a player having an experience outside your direct control. I want my players to get as MUCH knowledge as possible and sometimes that resides elsewhere or someone else explains something better. In the end is the player improving, because that's what its about.

Almost the entire passage is nonsensical. You have serious reading comprehension problems.
