Recently moved to the area and are looking for competitive team for my son to play on. He just turned seven but has been playing in u9 competitive for the past year.

Obviously heard about Seacoast but that is too far for my wife and I to travel and from everything I've read on here and heard it doesn't sound like they've got a great rep. Derry is another one that I've heard of and we're looking at. We're aware that there are going to be ups and downs with any club, but does anyone have any warning flags we should be aware of?

Also, are there any other clubs in the area that we should look at?

Do yourself a favor and do some actual research before making a judgement based on what you read here. Seacoast may not be for you, there are a number of high level clubs in the area now. My experience with Seacoast has been a great one, especially when you see how much spreading the game means to them and how committed they are to player development. I also know people who have great experiences with other clubs on this list. See what fits best for you.

The problem with people on this site is that they would rather not focus on how much the sport has been elevated, but rather sit and troll against the clubs their kids don't play for.

Most towns in the area have travel clubs and since you just moved into the area it would be a good way to make friends with kids from the same town. Your son has plenty of years to play more competitive ball.

This is a good point. Find the local travel club to start with. Learn the clubs this way and make your decision based on what you see. Good Luck.

stay clear of there it is a horrible organization and they only want money and don't pay their bills. Your child will be treated awful unless he is part of the 2 u11 teams or the u11 team.

Try every club and form your own opinion. People on these forums can spew such venom.

The DSC does not care about SZ success or failure. DSC is a long established club with many levels of teams. Believe it or not members of the DSC care about the game and player development. DSC is non profit. The SZ news speaks for itself. DSC will be there for the players and parents who do not find what they are searching for elsewhere.
