I heard the FC Stars are taking the place of Bolts in Londonderry. Any thoughts about this club? Good, bad indifferent?

Just what NH needs, another club. I'm sure they'll do better than the Bolts but I can't see them having long lasting success up here, there's just too much competition.

West field road
Never thought nh soccer was so political. Bolts and stars are good programs but Londonderry needs to make choices and stick with it for the good of the town, not for one age groups team (ahem). Stars has probably the best futsal setup for girls from my observation at games and tournaments but then again I liked bolts coaching a lot.
That said, Londonderrys board made some critical mistakes and now everyone looses. Golf clap to the board.

I agree with most of what you wrote. However, the Stars would have included mutliple age groups. The relationship started because there are many londonderry girls playing on the u12 team. However, although they were training in Derryfield in the fall, there were no 8v8 goals so they could not have matches. The stars coach reached out to Londonderry, and other towns. That is how the relationship began between LUSC and the Stars. In the spring not only would the u12s have been here, but free weekly training would have been offered to B and G U10s and U9s by the Stars. The club is just trying to get started in NH. This spring, they were going to have tryouts for multiple age groups, boys and girls in Londonderry. This idea that this is for just one team or one child is so overblown. The benefit would have been for all of Londonderry soccer.

Stars are not some utopia soccer club here. Please don't try to make them out to be more than what they are. Stars are here because it did benefit a few teams. Either way, policies were broken and Lderry Rec program had no choice but to enforce the rules and remove all teams that do not meet their requirements.

Each his own
My view is literally the polar opposite with bolts and lusc. My kid switched due to coaches that didn't train and trainers that didn't coach. It's a shame too since a lot of friends were on that team but the uncertainty was too much for us. Look at what happens in the winter for LUSC... Very few options and hardly any communications. Parent coached indoor soccer with no trainings, most didn't do futsal etc. I'm not saying Bolts is perfect but it was a big step up for us. I watched the stars practice and play and can say the same about them as well. Either would have been great as a program for Londonderry to work with but here we are.
Londonderry NH
Great fields.
Great kids
Too bad most play hours away.

I was someone who complained about the Bolts trainings. The added fees we paid did not seem to equal the value of the trainings we got. I felt like the board listened to us, regular LUSC, non Bolts families and our complaints about this. I know from the 3 teams I have kids on, none of us regular parents were impressed. This past fall LUSC has offered a far better program, my kids were trained weekly by Mark Ruest, and Bruno and Tom. We love the variety of excellent trainers, and the value. I am a team mother. I have dealt with Todd Ellis, he has no kids on our kids teams, and I see him with our trainers, coaches, and kids often. My youngest did the Stars training this winter, we were excited to have that opportunity coming to town, as were all of the other Londonderry parents that had kids on the team. Again this is not Todd's kids age groups. I do know Todd has been training my same younger kid all winter in the LUSC micro program too. There is no magical perspective here. I like the Stars trainings and value, the cost was more in line with what I could afford, better than the Bolts, maybe other people felt that way and that is why LUSC switched.
I am glad that the training and expectations are right on point for you and your child because that is the best ideal situation to have. A happy child playing and learning soccer, no matter which club it is.
