    Pathetic

Thanks to everyone for posting on this thread. It provided a good 5 minutes of reading and really helped me get a better understanding of just how pathetic people can truly be. Have to love the politics and parents of youth soccer. Clearly the business plan of this club didn’t account for a lot of stuff when it was started and heck was probably more like non-existent that’s clearly obvious.

But it kills me that people are on here bashing some of the coaches (most of who are volunteers - FACT) for going to look for space for their teams in other programs or joking about players showing up at other club practices so they have a place to play come the spring if not with SZ United. Are you all so narrow minded at the fact that regardless of how the club was run from a management level the FACT of the matter is the ones who will be affected the most if it does go under are the kids…some of them as young as five and six?

I have had the pleasure of getting to know a lot of the kids on a number of the teams on SZ United and there are some talented kids there at all ranges. Rather than finding humour or taking pride in the fact that the program was poorly run at a management level maybe think about that. “Ivan got turned away from DSC…” “Manny’s trying to find places for his u8/u9 (most of which are under seven) and u12 team to play.”

I don’t know what’s going to happen to SZ United and frankly it doesn’t bother me either way…but maybe the decent thing for some of these other club leaders to do would be to at least extend the offer to some of the teams and coaches (obviously assuming they pay the fees) so they aren’t out scrambling to find places for their kids to play.

And if SZ United can get their crap together at the management level and get things straightened out where’s the harm in that? Is it so horrible that there’s another club in the state that kids might want to play for? I realize it’s asking a lot to ask people to be decent but I can guarantee you that the kids on our u8 and u9 teams don’t give a sh!t about your politics or any of the junk that’s you people are bickering about…they just want to play.

The kids will be fine. They will find a place to play and the will have fun. People will be accepting of them. I will add that the SZ United crew did do some things that have led them to this place and it is true (or FACT as everyone here seems to like to say) that they brought some of this on themselves. Let's face it, they undercut pricing in the area (how did that work out)? So promised "premier" at a low price. Many went for it. Some of the tactics they used to grab players / teams was sketchy. So... Forgive us if there's been some venting going on here. You may call it negative or mean spirited, others may call it karma.

Were they even that much cheaper? If you factor in tution, uniform and tournament fee's I bet you would find out they were actually expensive!

            Club change?

Ivan comments it about the kids Agree! This would provide league play and 2 tournaments for the spring.
If I understand how this is written. These coaches wanted DSC to assume the cost and let the SZ players play for the Spring. If that is correct I can not blame DSC for needing to charge payment. Of course they need payment and of course the kids would have to change uniforms. It's a TEAM change. Any student changing from one club to another, in any sport, would be required to pay and change uniforms mid season.

:-)...Not that it matters but Matt didn't write that last post, nor did he or anyone in the organization or any other for that matter have anything to do with it or have any knowledge that it would be posted. I am simply a parent of a player on team, a volunteer who is there for my son and the other kids that are there to play, learn and have fun.

I've heard a lot about the comments that have been made on this forum and on others that are just getting nasty so I read through them last night and took it upon myself to speak up cause the nonsense with this whole situation is out of control. Rumors are flying around and spreading like wildfire, there is a different story every other day and most of the people that are talking don't have 100% of the information.

Maybe I'm an idealist but it would be nice if the people could put their egos aside, sit down and put the 100 kids at the front of the conversation.

If you folks could have put your ego's aside you would have stayed with Derry and not tried to start a new club with shady management!

Assuming there aren't players on this website.... Who are you suggesting isn't putting the kids at the front of the conversation? No one is being disrespectful to the kids. What exactly do you want everyone to do for the kids?

I was just about to post that, when you factor in tournament fees and the extra $100 that was recently requested I bet the only club they were cheaper than was Seacoast.

I am an SZ United parent as well (soon to be an X SZ United parent). But in my opinion based on the information we were told the night of the "information meeting" which was pointless (I could make a power point presentation that didn't give any information too). The only thing they did let us know is that they are awful with money and paying bills. In case you weren't there lets recap they have $6500 in their bank account. Bills that are outstanding SportsZone owed $24,000 (which they want to dispute but do the math fields at $175 an hour for 3 hours a day 5 days a week for 10+ weeks then add in 7 teams playing sessions 1 & 2 of indoor at roughly $600 a team), then PMA is owed $7,000 for field time from fall usage, Sulley's Soccer is owed $4000 for uniforms, and lets not forget that payment has not been made yet (doesn't get billed until May) for league play for the spring estimating at least another $5,000. Now moving onto spring outdoor they are still searching for fields to play on even though they claim "We can play in Fremont for free" (not buying that can we remember that we supposedly had a deal at SZ but yet there is an outstanding bill) I don't know why they are reaching out to a bunch of towns to see if they can use fields. Basically all it showed was that they are going to have to come back to the parents for more money (even though Patrick's email says this 1 time payment of $100).

As for you as a volunteer I have a question for you. Were you aware of the financial situation if no then I think you would have a right to be upset and be negative (I know I am), if you were aware you should be ashamed of yourself for not looking out for the best interest of the 100 kids.

Truth of the matter is the club let down 100 CHILDREN WHO JUST WANT TO PLAY A GAME AND BE WITH THEIR FRIENDS.

Wow. That is far worst of a financial situation then I could have imagined. Did they pay anything with the money collected from the families? Apparently not.

SZ is a NH nonprofit corporation. They are subject to review by the Attorney General's office. The original incorporators are josh, ivan, manny, pat and Matt. As a parent I would be very concerned.

I am no lawyer, but as a non-profit wouldn't the whole board be responsible?
