Harley any interaction with his players and lastly provides no meaningful value to his players. This man has been in his position for such a long time. Except, that is his job. Any parent can keep a clock and make subs. Even if you make them a little better because, you know he won 5 state titles and all. Typical HS coach. If someone else trains em’ they are super star-coaches. Otherwise - just wait till next year and hope something better shows up.

If, by the time your kid hits 11/12 grade, he hasn’t developed adequately as a soccer player, his varsity coach is not going to come along and save him.

The player’s job is to develop outside of HS season. Club, private training, working on own. The coach’s job is to see the best talent his school has to offer and pick the right team, put them on the field in the correct positions, create plays. But he can’t take a group of kids at 16/17/18 who failed to develop on their own and turn them into Messi. That just isn’t his job.

You want to lay blame? It starts with your kid and his teammates. Also learn what HS soccer is and is not. Tell your kids to put the work in before they show up for varsity soccer.

Whatever anyone says, the coach is not like the others. He has no ego and could care less of winning. Many other coach think they are the best and will do anything to win.

He’s always had club players. He didn’t suddenly forget how to coach. This year’s crop just isn’t that good. Writing a $3000 check to Seacoast or Stars doesn’t make your kid good. There is a place for every skill level at those clubs. I’m sorry you can’t accept the truth but folks like you go through life blaming everyone else for their failures and won’t ever get it.
