New to the area and seeking a club for my 8 year old. I am seeing tons of clubs with multiple locations throughout MA/NH. I would like to know which clubs have teams in the Merrimack Valley area.
In Hudson there is Hudson United which is a decent place for an 8 year old to learn and play soccer. In Nashua there are 3 options, LHIFA, iSC and Nashua Youth Soccer League. As they get older and if they show a real interest in soccer there are larger regional club options within reasonable (sub 45 minutes) driving distances.
At 8 you may want a local option (Hudson Utd. /Nashua YS) if just to see how they compare with their peers.
for clubs,
For another larger club option, Aztec is right across the border in Tyngsboro Mass, although they haven’t been the same since the 3Step purchase.

Aztec North is(for now) a quality product on the boys and girls side. What has changed is they have new owners who have completely abandoned them by starting a new league on the girls side and leaving that location out of it. My child has been gone for a year but we still have many friends there and it’s a shame what could happen to that location. There is Academy and ECNL level talent on almost every team but those few top players will not stick around under the current situation. The 2009 girls and other high school teams are back this week and the new reality will soon set in.

My knowledge is slightly outdated, but I think we have a vast difference is opinion of what and “Academy” and “ECNL” talent are……

Well let me update your knowledge. The 2007 NAL team has at least 2 girls on that level if not more. No 2008 team. The 2009 team has at least 2 girls on that level. I’m not as familiar with the younger girls but from what I’ve been told 2 or 3 of the 2011 girls have already left for the ECNL in the last year and they still have at least one or two girls on that level. No clue about 2012 or younger. I’m not here to defend Aztec or their players. I just know they have a good program but the new owners will eventually destroy it.

Thank you for proving my point.
Could’ve saved yourself a bit and just said “I agree”.

aztec north is putting the blame 3step to us parents but isn’t it their job to advocate for their region…it ain’t the new ownership Aztec north is a great spot for what it is and delivers on that but if the kid is in HS and they are ecnl or academy level they would be on one of those teams…Aztec north is a satellite of Aztec you won’t get the same treatment as the main location and that is what aztec north has sold to us parents but never delivered on. And other than one team all their teams don’t play in great leagues. Question is if they are so upset where do they go now which is the usual move…3step owns half the clubs and they have already burned the NEFC bridge. have blasted 3step so much to their families it doesn’t seam like a good situation and that 2007 Nal team has lost several players to better leagues this fall.

You have no point. You simply misread my original message.
” There is Academy and ECNL level talent on almost every team but those few top players“
I didn’t say the entire team was full of superstars. I said the top few. My last post backs up my claim. FYI I’m not even an Aztec parent anymore so I do not actually care what happens. I just know there are lots of good people still there and I think they are in a bad situation.

Know what? You’re right.
I misread your comment to believe it was more than a couple/a lot of players. My bad.
