Watched the HB vs Pelham girls game tonight after watching their semi final match last year expecting a game. Last year’s wild NHIAA playoff game was nothing but entertaining. What a difference a year makes, HB picked up a legit keeper, Pelham graduated out some real talent and McKenna Maguire is the real deal. 50+ goals as a freshman and sophomore is impressive, but watching her this year she looks legit. For those who know, Sydney Brackett / Morgan Andrews level. When HB beat BG in their preseason scrimmage knew they would be worth watching, but yikes are they killing it. 46 goals for 2 against. She’s special, tMM and was impressive with her holding up and not padding stats in these blow outs. I am legit surprised she’s playing D2 NHIAA soccer… would think she’d be prep or ECNL.

She is a great player but nowhere near Morgan's level. Morgan dominated club soccer at the highest levels, MM simply hasn't, her Aztec team struggles to score against better teams. Coach Clarke leaves her in there to pad stats. That being said, she's fantastic and will play D1 if she wants.

Really difficult to play D1 on the path she is on. Not impossible, but really difficult. A plus is there are a lot of teams out there and some need to go through non-traditional routes to generate interest in their program.

Admittedly I have not seen her club team, only HB HS, but a fellow parent of one club teammates has told me she is an important part of the team but if you surveyed the parents and players, she would not necessarily be voted best player. Whoever called her out by name and labeled special, whether that’s her parents or coaches, i advise you to step back, let the kid play, and take a target off her back.

Definitely was not her parent. Just some tool looking to cause trouble and getting talking soccer bashing going. MM is a great player and HB is stacked.

Yes. I would certainly expect someone like them to dominate those leagues. They'd likely have dominated D1 as well.

She is a good player. Let that be enough. She isn’t professional level. She wouldn’t be anything special in ECNL. Stop embarrassing the kid with the exaggerated praise.

Yes, of course, they are beholden during their HS playing based on their geography, for the most part.

It's reasonable to note that beating up crap teams and running up stats makes one wonder how they could compete on a bigger stage. Could be they would be fantastic (D4 kid a few years ago excelled for club and currently her college); could also be they are just a HS bully. The litmus test would be where the competition is better, which would be her club. Indications are the player doesn't excel there, and that's in a crappy league, which is why the questions are there.

Oh well, I root for every NH kid to do well and hope she does, too.
