You simply provided a link to the NEPAL website. You are sadly mistaken of you think these are all the top clubs in the northeast. Clubs like PDA, Red Bulls, and Baltimore Bays are indeed the top clubs in the northeast. Sorry but the New England clubs like Seacoast, Bolts, Oakwood and South Central are not at that level. I encourage others to look at the link and see how poorly the local teams do in the NEPAL. The local pre-academy teams are no better than the top NEP and MAPLE teams.

Take a look at the National Premier Leagues Champions Cup recently played in Illinois. The various winners of the NEP league got the opportunity to play against winners of several pre-academy leagues across the county. The local MA clubs played very well and were very competive.

To the Seacoast parent, please stop with the superiority complex. I guess you need to justify the $3,900 fee to play pre-academy. Definately not worth the cost!

        Wrong!

I did provide the link to show you that indeed there is NEPAL at u12!! Previous poster stated that " No u12 plays region 1, no teams are in region1 u13 boys or girls, sorry " !! Click the u12 age group and see the teams there! "The local pre-academy teams are no better than the top NEP and MAPLE teams." And what team does your little johnny play on? NHPSA? Right? What is interesting is you take shots at the bottom of the league as if winning is the only indicator of success! Sadly mistaken. Lets see if we can get a friendly together. Lets see how that goes.

Come on guys you have got to be kidding! There is like 3 kids from the seacoast u12 team 8v8 on Pre Academy this year, 18 on the roster! You are a bunch of fools to keep confusing the matter!

Wow! Where to begin responding to that rant. First of all, no one said there wasn't U12 divisions in NEPAL. The poster was refering to the Region 1 Leagues. Having U12 at NEPAL has nothing to do with Region 1. They are different leagues. By the way, there are no U12 teams in the Region 1 Leagues. As of this fall, there will be U13 teams participating in the Region 1 Leagues. You do realize that the local NEPAL clubs do not have U12 teams. They should not have U13 teams either, but that is a different discussion.

Yes, the local pre-academy teams are no better than the top NEP and MAPLE teams. Sorry that bothers you so much. You are the one boasting that all the best players are in pre-academy. I am simply pointing out that you are incorrect. Many of the best players choose not to participate in pre-academy.

Unfortunately, a Seacoast pre-academy team will never play against a top NEP or MAPLE team. They play in different leagues and Seacoast will only bring their pre-academy teams to NEPAL showcases. They would never bring them to a non NEPAL tournament. There is a remote, but unlikely possibility that a Seacoast team could win their division in NEPAL and go to the NPL Champions Cup. But that would mean beating out the likes of the Red Bulls.

Instead of going down to MD or PA for yet another NEPAL showcase where you play against the same NEPAL teams, wouldn't you rather play in a tournament against some other teams to truly gauge how well the team has developed? Perhaps you can convince Seacoast to enter pre-academy teams in a Memorial Day tournament.

at what age...U12 (u-11 last year) were killed in NEP and what happened to you U13's (u-12 last year) in state cup...why do we need a friendly?

it is still a fact that academy or preacademy, seacoast is not strong. If you are located near epping and are the best player in the state, maybe you can get a good look at some of the tournaments/games, but players 5-18 are simply not good and will not move forward.

The previous poster is just tweaking the obnoxious Seacoast parent who started this foolish discussion. We all know that the U13 pre-academy team is not the same as the U12 8v8 team. But for that Seacoast parent to come on here boasting that all the best players are playing pre-academy is just absurd. The Seacoast pre-academy teams are made up of the best players who showed up to tryout. Simple as that.

Good luck to the boys. I hope they have a great season. Hopefully, the few obnoxious parents don't ruin it for the rest of you.

The various State Cup champions as well as Region 1 league champions all participate in the Region 1 Championships.
My mistake, you are right I was confusing them.

Yes, NE Pre-academy does have U12 but that is not the Region 1 league. In Region 1 league there is no team from NH (which starts at U13) on the boys or girls at U13 and U14.

All though no one will ever know, the Pre-academy teams produce by the Revs, Bolts, or Seacoast are very competitive teams, usually the top in there age groups. There are also individual teams that can compete with these teams, but it is not the norm. The number two or three teams in Maple or Nep would struggle against them. The top team should compete, but we will never know because they don't co-exist in a common league or tournament.

The talent is more consistent on Pre-academy teams vs. Premier clubs. Clubs talent of there top players is dramatically different than there lower players. This is primarily the reason pre-academy teams will do better, they have more depth in talent. Remember there does come along a Club team that will challenge this fact.
