Watched a lot of games today... a couple unfortunates I saw was U16 boys World Cup. I thought they outplayed Classics... not by a lot but were the better team. U14 girls game was a battle as well as the U13 girls game. Only saw a little of U13 boys game but was even from the 10 minutes I watched. Pretty good day of soccer.

U-13 girls games was indeed a battle,could have gone either way.I think that World cup out played Seacoast by a tad though. The better team won in the end. U-14 Girls game not so much Seacoast had World cup running around in circles chasing the ball. Only battle there was the physical game that world cup had to run to even stay in the game with them.

Agreed a cheap shot to Seacoasts striker took her out for the game. Game was pretty dirty.lots slide tackles that were person not ball.

This is going to be a matter of parent perspective I suppose. I agree it was a physical game but I don't think there was any malicious intent. Seacoast also had a few fouls that were questionable. In my opinion, at this age when you have talented players they are apt to take some knocks because the kids don't read the game as well... i.e. timing is off. These teams have gone back and forth for 3 years and there has never been any real bad blood...just a good rivalry.

I'm no parent but also saw that takedown. It was a nasty tackle. Kicked from I saw just unfortunate that kids do things like that. You have to wonder who teach them this stuff.The rest of the game was good game pretty much.I did think Seacoast was the better team .Good job by all.

I predict Lightning will win both U14 and U15 boys.

Let's back up and slow down here. This thread was started by someone who referenced the wrong age group. People are piggybacking off the thread and bringing other teams and players into the mix.

U12 was Derry and World Cup
U13 was Seacoast and World Cup

U16 Classics boys outscored World Cup 3-0 in second half. Guess they were just lucky.

Fairly lucky... they finished better than World Cup but World Cup definitely had the better chances and controlled the majority of play. Classics are a very good team but were outplayed in technical game of soccer...but did finish. So luck may not be the best word for it... it's just soccer.

Yes, Lightning completely dominated both of these games. The U15 team is quite solid. Classics looked terrible in my opinion.

I should say that at U14 the Classics looked terrible. The Lightning team looked quite good at U15.

Wait but World Cup doesn't play real soccer, they just play long ball, foul, and only get goals off set pieces which the Classics defended terribly.

How misleading can you get.... they played long ball when they were chasing the game down by 2 goals... which is what every team does when they are in that position.
