And those were the easiest targets to hit. LTCs and hospitals were readily identified, not that large in number, and easy to execute quickly with residents and staff. My folks are in a retirement place where there's independent living, assisted living and nursing home care. They vaccinated 700 people in a day. Boom.

The much harder part is getting it out to the rest of us. Some states are doing really well, others not so much. Some of it is setting up more locations, state website issues, and staffing is a huge problem (they may soon add vets and dentists as approved vaccinators which makes a ton of sense). The Feds are not only getting the vax out quickly but setting up big FEMA sites, getting the military involved etc. It's great that states like Alaska are moving so fast that they're going to drop all restrictions soon. Then people in other states turn up the political heat to get their governors to do more.

FYI, most states including NY, MA, CT have already been having private social gatherings (my family and friends in these states as well as many others) we have been attending weddings, funerals, birthday parties, ect, so really, what is not already getting back to normal? Are you really still bunkered down in mom and dads basement apartment? In, your case, whats the difference? you were down there prior to the pandemic anyway.
