You do realize crude prices are set by global markets and are a function of supply and demand right? There's also this:

"Optimism over the vaccine rollout and a belief that the worst will soon be behind us is causing traders to drive up the price of crude oil futures. Futures are a bet that a certain commodity—crude oil, in this case, the main ingredient in gasoline—will be worth more in the months ahead. So an improving economy is driving up prices (slightly) but that's Biden's fault. You cons are insufferable. BTW you can't blame the XL pipeline deal - it hadn't run a drop through the pipe yet and wasn't even near completion yet.

“Cancelling the Keystone XL would mainly hurt consumers by limiting reliable crude oil imports from Canada and again reducing the US’ energy security,” De Haan said.
