OK, so the latest installment of As the Soccer Ball Turns down south of the border is that Albertson's team (#11 in R1 according to MM) has folded with some of their players are headed to Syosset.

I heard that their coach Paul Riley will be coaching in WPS next year which may be the reason some players are moving, but I'm not sure that the team is definitely folding.

There was a post on BOTN that said some players are moving up to an older team, some are moving down to a younger team, some will move to the B team and some are going to Syosset. It also said Riley will be coaching the new Philadelphia franchise.

There was also a post, presumably from a Syosset parent that said their travel expenses last year were around $20,000! With their schedule, I can believe it, but I thought someone in this forum said their manager was covering these costs.

If it's true - This will cause ECNL problems as you have to field teams in all three age groups. Maybe they'll move teams around and take the B team.

They went to the Surf Cup following the Nationals too. That would mean they played more than double the number of games that Stars or scorpions have played this past year.

That ain't all. Another chapter in the LI saga is that East Meadow coach took his daughter to Syosset too, leaving things up in the air for EM.

Looks like EM could disband since they've only 10 players currently listed on their roster. Any idea where Albertson's Regional players will land?

How big is the Syosset roster? With all the additions, have they made some cuts?

They have the potential to become quite a powerhouse. Are they pretty much a tournament team? It seems like there could be some long distance travel to training.
