NEFC Metrowest Region- not great news

Same thing is happening out in western area. Not enough players to fill all these teams so now you’ll be seeing a lot of combined age groups at bolts west, NEFC west, Rush, Juventus. All these clubs and teams are watered down big time. Everyone trying to get a stake in the fortune that is youth soccer when the majority of these kids should just play their towns travel teams. Put these big businesses out of business and leave it for the top players. You got a,b, c, d, e teams. It’s out of control.

I have kids with 5 years between them, so have been through the youth sports circuit for a good 15+ years. The changes in things between my older and my younger's experiences are jaw dropping. Pay to play has laid waste to town soccer, and (as you say) most of these kids really belong on town travel, not expensive "premier".

You have what I call quite a bit of $100K games when these kids hit U13 and older. Basically 2 teams playing paying a club fee of $2500 a player at 20 players per team where the kids would be better off playing in a town league.

yes exactly. Both my kids are out of the system now, and I have a lot of reservations about all the money and time spent (ridiculous travel to play teams when there's probably equal competition close by that doesn't require a hotel).

What teams are combined at nefc and juve? I have kids in both and haven’t heard of any composite teams. Nefc has had composite 07/08 girls forever.

Having a 07/08 composite team for one year, because they had to merge after the coach that built them from scratch quit, is forever?

In other words, there were 2 solid teams at 07 and 08, coach was driven off and half of both teams quit and thus the need to to combine. It's just part of the same issue they continue to have at NEFC

At nefc west? O7/08 girls have been combined for the past 3 years. There first year 08/09 were combined. If they managed to scrape together a 08 team for next year it would be the first time they have ever had a west 08 girls team. Not sure what coach was driven off.
