    NEFC Metrowest Region Falling Apart

The deterioration of the NEFC Metrowest Region continues. The number of new players brought in has continued to decline and they lost on average 2-3 players from each of their respective teams. At present, 5 coaches have left the Metrowest Region for the Fall 2021 season and the previous Director TH was demoted and replaced with a new 30 year old whiz kid former director of advertising at GPS.

The Instability within the NEFC Metrowest program is becoming an issue. Parents (and yes we are parents of current players) are not happy with the lack of communication with current NEFC staff, what is the plan if our childrens' teams do not have enough players to field a team in our age groups in Metrowest region- will we have to merge with a lower age group of players and also there has been little to no communication from NEFC Staff/Coaches in regards to a possible move into another league- it is frustrating to say the least. A lot of parents signed back on with NEFC Metrowest in Good Faith, but at present the communication/updates had been nonexistent

Not how we planned on beginning our summers- not knowing the direction of our soccer program.

No, Sorry... Just a parent, trust me, I have dealt with parking nightmares at Mendon when the 5:00 teams are leaving and the 6:30 teams are getting on.. I have been through the 1x weekly comnute to Marlboro Forekicks....

I have EARNED my stripes as an NEFC parent....
(Also, not just my viewpoints- the views of many paremts- there has been little to no communication by our Coaches or NEFC Staff... )
      Just expressing our views....

Did you hit reply on either the email about fall coaching assignments or the league switch to ask the questions you have? If the answer is “no”, then the problem is not NEFC, but rather you. If the answer is “yes”, and you were ignored, then that IS a problem.

I still have no idea why people care how old MB is as long as he can do the job. Such a stupid concern.

What is wrong with asking questions?

Well, we were notified of the coaching assignments 1st by our coach. So, there is that. Also, this has nothing to do with a coaching assignment nor reassignment either. It has to do with zero communication since we all signed up for next season- nothing about the smaller numbers of players on some teams- will our children now be placed on composite age teams, which league are we actually in?

So, the "MB Thing" is a concern. There no longer is amy cohesion or a feel for the direction of our program- yes, we all got the email about the Puma camps, ect. In years past, our old coach(s) would even have scrimnages or trainigs to help with cohesion.

Anyways, these are just our concerns,. Please don't belittle us as parents just because we want up to date and more.importantly, relevant info on our childs teams amd club.

Why don’t you ask about numbers? I have no idea what age group your player is, but I would suggest voicing these concerns either to your kid’s coach, MB, or both. I get that there isn’t enough communication from your perspective, my point was to ASK! Ask the questions. Tell them how you’re feeling. You’ll get better results than posting here.

Please, do not attempt to place yourself in our shoes- thank you. We have attempted contact (text, telephone and emails) with different Coaches AND MB and we have asked specifically about numbers and composite teams and any plans for ages to be out together as one team. Our responses have been similar, not clear nor concise.
They have said #'s of players will be down, there has been some movement of players but, there has been no answers provided in regards to our real concerns.

That is the issue- questions are asked and answers are given that are so vague they are almost condescending to parents who have invested in this Club year after year after year.

              Just stating our concerns.

I’m not attempting anything. Just asking questions. Sounds like you HAVE asked for information and haven’t gotten what you needed. I’d be upset too. Couldn’t tell all of that based on your initial post.

Thanks, and not only has it been my family. Over the years, we have developed relationships with other families- and to the letter, all of us are receiving the same vague, ambiguous responses back. One parent even has an email response from MB stating that he could not answer the question because he has only been assigned to the region for a couple weeks? What is that tyoe of response supposed to ellcit from a oarent? If you don't know MB (for whatever reason) then FIND out the answer and respond back accordingly.

That is just not happeming, that is why this post has been done. Hopefully, our Metrowest Region staff will read this.

No, I am a parent of a child that plays for NEFC. And, up until the last couple months ( my child has played for NEFC Metrowest for the past 5 seasons). We actually Love the program and don't want to leave it. Our child loves the friends and teammates on the team.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? We want the program to get better, our child has developed many great relationships over the years with coeaches and players.

                          What? Okay.

This is quite confusing. Have a good day.

Communication at this point- end of season is always difficult but should be done if possible.

Can you tell us what age group/team your son was playing on last season? I’m curious as my son has recently joined a metro west elite team. Same coach as the prior year and my understanding is 3-4 new kids with the core of the team coming back.
