But the roster was going to look different next season even if they kept Composite. 2) You realize that you were already on the second tier team right? The top team is the U19 ECNL Blue. So I'm not sure why you think next year would be worse if you are ECNL-R (which again, is a second tier). It's a different patch but the skill/league level will be almost identical to what you had this year, if not better. Look at the standings in Composite. Those Stars teams have no competition there, it's really weak. At least at ECNL-R maybe the league will have more competition.
2. Yes, but for us, this was a better option for a number of reasons I won't get into in detail. Play style of team was overall a better fit. I'll also say I never said we were with Stars...
D is in active conversations with a number of coaches. Wasn't a whole lot of difference between ECNL and Comp for us and coaches didn't care regarding the change from one year to the next. No idea how those conversations go now when the question of team/league comes up regarding next year.
Honestly the entire process is complete BS. Can't wait until D is done with club soccer.

Team was always getting blown up, and who cares where she plays senior year, recruiting will be over. If somehow your kid is going to be a junior next year then your sophomore was sentenced to the composite Gulag long ago - prolly cuz of you

Honestly it's all a racket. If you are looking at D2/3 you don't need club to play in college anyhow. My D and her friend are both playing in college at the 2/3 level and neither has played club for junior or senior year. We did all of the coach conversations and went to school specific ID camps, sent film. For D1 you should be on a top team, or at least a heavily exposed second team at a club or it will be much harder to be recruited IMO.

Did the OP's question get answered? Does anyone know if composite teams are going away at all clubs?
