Is it better to be on a strong team and not play much or a weaker team and play a lot?

So many variables. What age? What's the end goal? How much is not much and how weak is weak?

Taking out the extremes (i.e. not much means very little, or not at all; weak means win none, lose a lot, and aren't competitive) - I'd go with the weaker team and play.

The goal behind playing the game is actually playing the game.

Agree. Touches on the ball are what matter. Yes coach makes a huge difference, but if the only touch your getting is at practice, you wont get better.

        Also, confidence matters, a lot.

It is easy for a kid to lose confidence with little game time. On the other hand, it's a confidence boost to be one of the best players.

Exactly. We are waiting on the jump to the next level until we know our kid will not be riding the bench while we pay tuition. Let her get better on a solid team with a good coach before fighting for playing time. I believe u do that too soon your kid loses the love of the game not just confidence.

Not necessarily. Can be frustrating for a strong player to play on a team with players who aren’t at the same level. Players regress that way. Key is to find the right balance. Playing on the stronger team will make the player stronger, however, the confidence might take a big hit. Seen a lot of players quit for this reason.

Coach is most important thing. Do they set high standards, run a good practice, have a development minded focus, etc.

Every kid under 15 should play at least half of every game.

Those two things covered your kid will be fine at the top of the roster (where they'll get more minutes, can be a leader, etc) or the bottom (where they can strive to improve and move up, gain more minutes, etc)

It really depends on the scale of stronger versus weaker. If you're choosing between Stars Blue and White at a younger age level there's won't be a significant talent gap for the upcoming season. All those teams are being totally rebuilt. If the teams are comparable then I would rather my DD be player 1-5 than player 15-18. Build her confidence and let her grow then move up.

Another unanswerably vague question on TS.

Is one of the goals to learn how the game is played competitively, at pace? If so, you don't learn that on a weaker team. But that is not every kid's/family's goal. Depends on the kids age and goals.

If your kid is younger for their birth year ie born in late fall of 2009 vs Feb of 2009 your kid is younger mentally and physically than other kids on their team. Don’t push them up too early as they may have skill but nothing in common with kids on older grades and feel a lack of connection especially during early puberty years. If your kid is the best on the team yes move them up but best to find a solid team in same age group.

It's also very dependent on player personality (some kids will have a tough time not playing much so take that into account) and what options are available. If a lower option doesn't have good coaching or competition, then taking a higher level team that is significantly stronger might be the better option. If the two are closer to one another, then go with the team where you'll play more vs a few minutes a game

Watching someone else vs. doing it yourself....

                          I guess that's the decision

Juventus doesn’t develop, they just recruit for profit. The only way some of their teams are successful is because they will field teams competitively with players from across all regions. The amount of money that they charge is ridiculous for what they actually do. Their methodology is keep the organization paid. I wouldn’t spend a dime on their garbage…

Why so many parents and players so negative on Juventus; poor past experiences make them want to warn other parents before they make the same mistake. What Juventus fears most is honest reviews from past parents who’ve seen the lack of quality coaching and poor organization!!
