Why does Stars always recruit players heavily to their club. I never hear Scorpions doing it for their ECNL teams. Scorpions have some very strong teams at 05 and below but my daughter does not see or tells us their are a lot of new faces at training. Just find it weird when reading players not happy at NEDC and better yet SSS.

If you aren't willing are able to make the ride to Lancaster, then Scorpions is a great second option for access to the ECNL showcases. Which is why Scoptions picks up a couple girls from those clubs every year.

they also need to fill both ENCL-R teams
and now apparently multiple NPL teams
and still keep the $$ coming in with the NEP teams.
and if they move kids up they aren't bringing new money in the door, much better to recruit and get net new money.

I was laying out what I take to be the honest argument for "Why ECNL?"

Anyone who has been around for a year or so will see that its a constant stream of kids trying out, coming from many places. The real challenge for many in ECNL is not making it, but staying and maintaining the work ethic to get PT.

This this thread is about club movement and the question seemed to me to be why is there continued recruiting into ECNL teams?
I think there are 2 main sources of outflow from ECNL teams-
1) churn out of players who for whatever reason want to get of the D1-or-bust train tracks. 2) kids who are relegated down by their club.
Taken together that leaves a roster spots to fill every season.
And there are 2 main sources of inflow into ECNL teams-
1) new players looking to get on the ECNL train, primarily for college recruiting
2) promotion from lower teams
I think the $$ explains why the club might prefer to recruit in from the outside rather than move up from within.
I do personally know of examples of kids actually moving up, both ECNL and GA, but it doesn't seem to be as common as coming in from the outside. (although perhaps the outside recruiting gets more airplay because it feeds into the us-vs-them bs on ts).
Another possibility is that outside recruits are favored because of confirmation bias that the lower level players are just lower level players. The flip side would be optimism bias convincing coaches that the new shiny player from outside will be better than a kid from regional team.

FORZA JUVE- MLS Next. (1 of only 24 Chosen in the United States!!)
Letter from our Juventus Boston Academy President!!!
JUVENTUS Academy Boston & Intercontinental football academy new England FAMILY,
WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR ACCEPTANCE INTO MLS NEXT. TO BE ACCEPTED BY MLS NEXT IS ANOTHER STEP IN OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO A SOCCER EXPERIENCE UNLIKE ANY OTHER. This gold seal of approval through mls next as one of 142 teams nationwide is an honor and a reflection of the standard of exCellence we strive to achieve as an organization. IN THE INTEREST OF THE ACADEMY, WE HAVE OPTED TO ADD AN ELITE DIVISION TO JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON - THE INTERCONTINENTAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY, OR “IFA.”
THE IFA IS AN EXTENSION OF JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON, NOT A SEPARATE ENTITY. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR THE MOST ELITE PLAYERS IN OUR ACADEMY. IFA PLAYERS WILL BE AMONG THE STRONGEST YOUTH PLAYERS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, AND WE WILL COMMIT THE SAME LEVEL OF INTENSITY AND RESOURCES TO OUR IFA PLAYERS AS WE HAVE TO OUR JUVENTUS Academy Boston PLAYERS.
THE IFA IS AN EXCITING ADDITION TO JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON, AND OPENS THE DOORS FOR OUR PLAYERS TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF YOUTH SOCCER IN THE COUNTRY. OUR MISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO PROVIDE OUR PLAYERS THE STRONGEST PLATFORM FOR THEIR SUCCESS, AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT HAS ALWAYS BEEN PUT ABOVE ALL ELSE.
WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE THAT OUR FIRST IFA TEAMS WILL COMPETE IN MLS NEXT AS OF AUGUST 2021. PRESENTLY, THE IFA WILL COMPETE WITH BOTH A U13 AND U14 BOYS TEAM.
FINALLY - WE WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR IFA MLS NEXT TEAMS WILL BE FULLY FUNDED. WE BELIEVE FIRMLY IN DISMANTLING THE FINANCIAL BARRIERS IN YOUTH SOCCER, AND WILL LEAD BY EXAMPLE. NO PLAYER WITH THE CAPABILITIES TO COMPETE AT THIS LEVEL SHOULD BE DENIED DUE TO THEIR ECONOMIC SITUATION.
WE ARE HAPPY TO TAKE THIS STEP WITH OUR JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON FAMILY AND ARE EXCITED TO WRITE THE HISTORY OF THE IFA IN REAL-TIME ALONGSIDE OUR PLAYERS. CREATING THIS ELITE DIVISION OF THE ACADEMY IS A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME SET OF GOALS WE HAVE OUTLINED SINCE OUR INCEPTION. THIS INCREDIBLE MILESTONE IS ONE OF MANY WE WILL ACHIEVE ON OUR MISSION TO BECOME THE STRONGEST YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY IN THE UNITED STATES.
Bill Altieri

Juventus doesn’t develop, they just recruit for profit. The only way some of their teams are successful is because they will field teams competitively with players from across all regions. The amount of money that they charge is ridiculous for what they actually do. Their methodology is keep the organization paid. I wouldn’t spend a dime on their garbage…
Why so many parents and players so negative on Juventus; poor past experiences make them want to warn other parents before they make the same mistake. What Juventus fears most is honest reviews from past parents who’ve seen the lack of quality coaching and poor organization!!
