Where do these people get these falsehoods?
It was a waste of time for the best players, but to kids from the smaller clubs, these were invitations to "National Team Training." These invites show up on lots of player resumes, I'm sure.

I think it was a good attempt at fairness and a chance to see any hidden gems (and for JD to recruit them???), but it wasn't good soccer by any means.

SSS is not getting into the ECNL. The teams playing in the impact NPL are the central region teams that currently play in NEP if you look closely. These teams train out of stars complex in Lancaster. This is a good move for Stars and not one club in the impact NPL. These will be technically their 5th teams playing against 1st and 2nd teams. This will be a great recruiting pathway for his ECNL regional and maybe ECNL national teams to pick off the top players from these other member clubs, especially ones near Lancaster. LL and the other member clubs will regrets letting them in.

Legit question
no dog in the fight on this but legit question...
why would it be bad for SSS and/or NEFC to be let into ECNL? Wouldn't it be good for soccer in the region to have more options at that level? Would two more really dilute the pool too much?
FC Stars in Lancaster is not geographically convenient for a lot of the region.
Scorpions in Taunton same.
Adding NEFC and SSS might work?
The top teams of all of these clubs can be competitive outside of the region.
It just seems vindictive and political.

well known fact that years ago LL tried to basically run ECNL and the board wouldn't put up with antics. She was aggressive and insulting. As a result, a town team from Mass. has a better shot of getting into ECNL than select does! ECNL has had enough of LL so select parents can really thank her for it's failure of never ever getting into ECNL!

Look at it from the business owners perspective.... why would it be good to let them in?

These parents can never properly put themselves in the shoes of the people running Scorpions or Stars. They can’t understand that these 2 clubs have an exclusive hold on entrance to the 1 youth soccer league that is well established and thriving, and whose competition is struggling in failing league(s). They can’t understand the parent/customer dynamic the way someone like JD does (I think it’s a forest-for-the-trees thing)

I get the situation and understand the strategy, I just think it’s pretty short sighted from a business perspective.
