Even the top players on any New England team aren’t necessarily going power 5 and its not because of the league they played in when the were 15yo
Yes it is true if you've got the goods you'll get noticed. But there's lots of reasons to stay, lots of reason to go
1) if you're a more "typical" mid level player being in a league that maximizes your exposure can make a big difference; so does playing good competition or coming from a well known club
2) not all ECNL clubs are the same (eg no one in their right mind should move to say FSA)
3) not all players can make an ECNL club work logistically
4) Some will simply prefer the 10 month GAL program/want to stay where they are.

Sure, but its said over and over here that a mid-level player wouldn’t bump an existing mid-level, and that makes sense. Bigger point is it doesn’t seem like the kids or parents care, very few are moving clubs. Maybe its comfort, coaching, teammates, logistics... whatever it is the club changing hasn’t happened to the extent that ECNL clubs would have you believe. That said...give it a few years and maybe that will change but for now its mostly status quo
