How long will the Girls MA 2003-2008 threads last?

When does the club bashing stop? Is it when girls enter their respective top-notch High Schools? Or, is it when the college recruiting starts and ends....does it ever stop? Are you all still continuing the dialogue during their college careers?? Since none of them are going pro or to the Olympic team, and your money has run out, do you just start saving and enjoying the hiatus until you can do this all again with your Grandchildren?

My experience: it starts in 6th grade, peaks in 8th grade, peters out in 9th. In 6th grade talent is broadly distributed and players are still developing creating broadest base of parents with high aspirations. Team success in middle school is shared by all, and Lists are compelling. By HS shared hope turns into individual realities. Players consolidate and pursue individual goals for their recruiting process.

The unfortunate downside of the above is that bashing across clubs/teams shifts to bashing players within a team. MOST parents do not do this, but there are always one or two who sense there may not be a chair for their kid when the music stops, and they get toxic

I hope so. It's fun, keep it up.
Our middle school thread died because we named it by age-group

YOu are absolutely spot on. My kid is 07, on one of the "top teams" and already i hear people mention their kids player profiles and recruiting. We havent done any of it, just trying to keep it all fun but there's a definite sense that no one cares about the team result anymore aside from the knowledge that a bad performing team will result in cuts. Everyone just seems to care about their own personal goals. Not as much fun as it was just a year or two ago.
