Interesting considering in prior years when GDA was a thing, it was most GDA players. Seems now that US Soccer doesn't have a dog in the fight, they are actually looking for the best players, not make political statements.
GA is dead. If you're a player at that level, the message is clear. Play in the most competitive league.

So, really, still a political statement.

Funny, for the last 3 years all we heard was "yeah if you want to chase the NT team then I guess DA is for you; but for the rest of the players who want college this is your route."
Now, suddenly, the commentary shifted.
Some people are so obsessed with what others are doing. Has your neighbor busted you yet from spying through the hedges?

Of course NT only applies to a few unicorns, but clubs and leagues sure like having them to use as a marketing tool. Top players will go to where they can get the best training and competition (within a reasonable distance of course). USSF put a lot of pressure on those players to move to GDA and most of them did. Now they don't have to and can do whatever they think is best for them.

This using of NT centers and camps as a marketing ploy has been exposed. They were all from ecnl and they were all from the gda and now they are all from the ecnl again. It is the players that get used in this game.
They are all good but DO NOT make any decisions about youth soccer based on that. If you actually have the deal in hand and it is agreed that your kid will be sent...then by all means join that team. Otherwise, it should not be a consideration.
