$25 per player per game for 3 games and 16 players. to cover fields, refs, trainers, parking, etc.

That doesn't seem terrible. Especially when baked into your yearly club fees (nobody is paying these out of pocket are they?)

So you’re just anti capitalism? Consumers have the ability to participate or not, that’s the way the system works. If consumers don’t want the product, it will go away. Feel free to try and build the better mouse trap.

You both are high if you think a decent event can be held for 20 a player. There's ref fees, insurance, medical staff on hand, most likely field rentals unless the organizers own their own (no one has enough fields to do an event of any scale).

Besides, do the math - if they're charging you $70 an even X 3 events a season - that isn't where your cost driver is. Not happy? Tell your club you won't go and ask to have your fee pro-rated back to you. Good luck with that - we can't wait to see how it turns out. Good luck telling your kid he/she can't play the events with their teams

Agree with poster - tournaments are way too expensive for what you get. Massive markup.

We aren’t going and wish we were. Would gladly pay my fifty bucks to get my kid three games after the year they’ve had.

$50? I’d gladly pay $50 too but SSS made us pay $125 and there’s 19 kids on the team. The kids are only really getting a game and a half after being subbed out so they can have equal playing time.

They have to put coaches up in Hotels to go Medway, Marlboro, Lancaster and or Taunton that is an absolute joke.

The coaches salary should be included in club tuition, they really should have the right to get your for meals and mileage which to go to Lancaster from the South Shore is like $75 per game.


When you take 1150/19 and 225/19 = $71 per kid they are making $50 a kid just by putting the team in the tournament.

And that is assuming they are paying the full $1150, were most organizers give multi team discounts.
