My D played at BC, and I was happy because I'm an alum, I never did care about the ACC, just that she was happy with her choice beyond wins and losses. I wouldn't brag about the ACC, but why would people care if someone does?

Bragging about the ACC can be a thing. Why does it have to be the ONLY thing?

I would be proud of my child for earning the opportunity to play at any school she wanted to be at. But if people want to brag about anything publicly, then they should be prepared to hear opinions. At least one poster here has repeatedly said that the vast majority of parents would be thrilled to have their kid play at BC. That’s silly. I would not. My kid has zero interest in both the school and soccer program. It’s fine to be happy with your decision but when you start believing everyone wants the same, you cross the line into delusional.

Can't really anyone saying that. Some don't like BC for various reasons, sure.

The question continually asked is what is appealing to play SOCCER for BC...and the only answer provided is because they are in the ACC. That's not trashing BC, it's asking a question that is evidently unanswerable.

I think that’s a good answer. You may not like it but for many of my daughter’s teammates and friends they all aspire as a first choice to play in that conference. For most it’s unattainable with good reason. I think we could agree that most club soccer players who watch womens college soccer are more familiar with this specific conference than any other.

What happens if FSU wins their lawsuit and gets out of their conference, and goes to the SEC? Real, real good chance of that happening, even if they have to pay big $$ to do so. And Clemson, Notre Dame, Pitt, Virginia, NC State, Miami all do the same? Football is where the money is so these big football schools want out. Would they be just as happy chasing a conference as their, apparently, only reason to do so?

Not a BC apologist at all, not even a little. Wanting to play against the best competition is admirable and getting an education at BC isn’t the equivalent of Bridgewater state. Win/win.. play against high profile teams and graduate with a useful degree. Who is to say BC doesn’t turn it around in 3-4 years and you are part of the beginning of success. If/when. FSU, Clemson and others leave BC most likely will be left holding the ball bag. This is the biggest caution when considering BC and the ACC, it’s unlikely to look like it does this fall as it will in 2026. The Stars White analogy fits, but white is never going to improve their lot, BC may, by better coaching, recruitment or….switching leagues.

BC has a great academic reputation. For reasons that are there own, that's not enough for some. Nobody really seems to have any issue with the academics that I can see on here, so it's irrelevant.

The difference with Stars White is they don't really offer anything other than being in ECNL. They are the red-headed stepchild within their own club. There is another club minutes away who can offer as much, if not more, than what is in place today. None of the others you reference have that. White's ONLY draw is the league they are in.

BC opens its fall season with an exhibition against UML. Will be interesting to see who his key players will be.
